Yeah, it was actually over the Christmas break of '98. The Escalade was just introduced that Fall. My bad....

Booger was cool as shite. He'd bring me all over the place during the summer (baseball practice or golf tournament etc.) I remember him dropping me off at Howell Park for a BREC golf tournament and calling my dad to make sure that he really wanted to leave me over there.

They all do it......some more than others.

A certain Parade All-American RB was one of the more blatant ones I ever personnally witnessed.

Anyone remember Brandon Bass' Mercedes? Dude came out of a rough neighborhood and Capital high, but somehow had a bad arse Benz. HMM...

i know in my hometown, the bad neighborhood is where all the nice rides are. at 90% of the homes, the car is worth more than the house they live in.

He must've downsized then. But props to him if he's a multimillionaire and drives a beat up truck.

I was very impressed with that as well.

In Darrow its not uncommon to see a 2009 Escalade with 26's on it in front of a house that doesn't even have air condition.

Jamarcus lived in the same apartment complex as me (actually directly under me) he helped me carry my hammered drunk friend up the stairs one night but anyway, yes he did have a brand new (07 at the time) Caddilac Escalade on 26 inch rims with alabama license plates that said "bama boy." This was after the season about 2 months before the draft.

BIG differnce was "after the season" , he had turned PRO by that time. Nothing wrong with that.

It's not made up---see my post on the 1st page. Faulk and Mcfarland both got advances from their agent and bought Escalades as soon as their eligibilty ran out. Faulk bought a maroon and Booger a white one. They were driving them on campus. I knew them both very well.

I worked at a video store fairly near to campus back in '90-'91. A lot of athletes came in there and rolled up with some pretty nice rides.

As I'm sure often happens around town, they did get some free rentals every now and then.

Don't you think that should have been stated a little clearer in your first post? Again, that changes everything. Nothing wrong with that.

Yeah, I just got the year wrong. It was in the spring after the '98 season.

Who was the fat cat supplying the football team with mopeds between about 03 and 05? Does the team still used them?

i guess everyone expects top college athletes to drive beat up rides huh? I mean seriously, all the top athletes at high school have nice rides. I mean how how is it to get a nice "car"??

this is so stupid on so many levels. They can get the loan on thier own, i am also sure parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, brothers, would be more then happy to help out their future hall of famer with a little bit for a down payment.

this student that call in, cowherd, and who ever started this thread = not very bright.

stereotyping at it's finest.

I was Faulk's neighbor when he lived off Nicholson by the Circle K...he had a candy apple red (not maroon) Cadillac Deville with 20" wheels. He use to hand wash it weekly in the parking lot.
