I agree that BK's conservative stink loomed over Sloan's play-calling. 3rd & 11 run up the middle on the 1st possession; and the painfully conservative play-calling at the end of the game are just two examples.

I can’t help but laugh at some of these comments. Last year, 40% of our passes were >10 yards downfield. There were times when people were criticizing Sloan for throwing it deep too much. You talk about “conservative stink” but it feels like we go for it on 4th down a ton, so much that it’s often been criticized even before the end of the first half vs. Clemson.

It seems clear to me that between Clemson’s decision to play 2 deep safeties most of the night and concern about pressure from Clemson’s DL, a huge part of the game plan was to rely on quick throws and screens.

We have had success in the past running on 3rd and long. It’s not “conservative” so much as it’s an attempt to catch the defense off guard. IIRC that was a draw play on the first drive. If anything it’s a bit of an aggressive call.. something that makes you look like a genius when it works or an idiot if it doesn’t.

I would also like to know who called for the replay of Brown's non-TD. Why not take the play, line up and sneak it in from the 1 ft line. If it was BK and/or his staff......huge mistake!!

Did you not see us running to the line to try and get the next play off? Even the broadcast crew was questioning why we were in such a hurry since everyone thought it should have been a TD.

The delayed screens over the middle to Arron Anderson are going to make for some big gains over the season. It's going to take a Harold Perkins type of linebacker to stop these and there's only 1 Perk.
