That's how it should be. Whenever a coach's name gets on the hot seat, it never works out, then you drag your feet for another 2 years solidifying a lesser program stance. Only case I can think of that was maybe the opposite, but not really, was Coach O. He went 9-3 in 2017 and 2018, so I don't think he was really on the hot seat pre-Nati, but the next season when he sucked and was for sure on the hot seat, it never got better.

Wasn't there thought that Sloan was also responsible for JD's meteoric rise?
Looking back it was probably more to do with Denbrock's play calling, 2 elite WRs, and JD finally learning to just sling the damn ball and stop playing with hesitation.
And I think JD putting in the insane effort. Work ethic was pretty famous. Players have to do that to become elite at a position like QB.
I don't know if Nuss has a great work ethic or not, but I know JD's was incredible.

Who on staff, besides Sloan, has any experience calling plays?
If we fire Sloan tomorrow, who would get the nod?

LOL, you people are miserable. But let me gues, if it were Saban, it would have been a great hires and testament to his greatness, right?
Ed O simply put together the greatest team in college history, went undefeated, and his players, including the OL, won every single prestigious award given.
And yes, when coaches take over, they inherit SOME people...but blessed are those who know to retain those people, and stay the frick outta their way.
Did BK do that? NO. Because its not in him to step aside and let better people make decisions.
Ed O is and will forever be know as an architect of the best single season team ever
