I think a better conversation might be 'do spread-ish offenses lead to a greater potential for a pick to be returned for a TD, as opposed to one which may have players more clustered, for lack of a better word'? But that may be over the rant's head.

So if Charles Scott fumbles

If charles scott fumbled once every 15 carries and didn't improve his ball security during the course of the year, would he have lasted as long on the field as JL did?

I have thought this for a long time. JR threw many INTS but had few if any Pick 6's. Any QB will throw an INT but Lee' percentage of INT to PICK 6 has to be off the charts.

It isn't all his fault.

Football teams have at least one jinx every year. Remember when anyone would punt or kick the ball we automatically had a block in the back? Remember the year we had like two turnovers on defense the entire freaking year? Lee's int's were the culprit of a young QB terrible play calling, and the amount of talent of the opponent. If the player in the Ole Miss game wouldn't had made a great effort JJ would have a pick six. JJ is a good QB and I told my buddies he would be the starter before the year is out. But for everyone to make him a FREAKING GOD after two games doesn't say much about our fan bases knowledge or understanding of the game.

"The Doc" what the guy is trying to say is that it's football its everyones job to stop the other team from crossing the goal line with the ball that is the basic fundamentally rule of the game and your just a smart-a** morion.

No. If they do, it will show that the coaches do not have confidence in the offense.......

And your point is? I threw a hypothetical situation out there to make a point ... regardless of who makes the mistake, it's everyone's job to stop the opposition from scoring. Hence the term "team sport". There are enough other posts on this board bashing JL, so why try to do it in this one?

if scott fumbled the ball every 16 touches, he would not be playing.

wouldn't you say that the coaches should have spent more time developing jefferson though?

using 4 QB's in practice now, I think miles has learned something

it's a gamble, but by all accounts he struggled early on. my guess is they knew it was going to be a long year and preferred to have JJ redshirt if at all possible. You can only "develop" so many QB's at a time. Had they brought JJ along earlier I doubt our record would've been any different given how the defense played.

he has the unique circumstance of having two incoming guys on campus right now. I'd bet $100 all 4 won't be getting reps in the fall once actual game prep starts

True.

Jefferson
Shep (wild x snaps, some throws)
Lee with mop up time
Garrett redshirts.

This is the ideal situation, but injury would make this situation change for sure.

well the offense only allowed 1 out of every 2 piks jarrett lee threw to be returned for a TD. But if you think about throwing 13 picks in 8 games is a bit much( well actually alot), and you cant expect the offense to stop them all from not being returned for a TD(but definately more than 7), but there were several scenarios where Lee threw a pick to the other team where no LSU player was around to make a tackle.

Does it ever occur to some of you that maybe the ints and reads should be the concern about JL instead of the pick 6's.?

Seems to me that if any of you JL haters had any sense, that would be a far more logical point to make than the return TD's.

Fact is, that shite was fluke and I'd bet everything i own that no matter how many picks the kid throws, it will NEVER equal to last yrs numbers.

Furthermore, its a new season.
MOVE THE frick ON, and support the guy.

I'm not the coach, or there during practice, but every team I ever played on (just through highschool) always did tackling drills... everybody.

I would like to think our tigers do this...

tackling wasn't the issue, most of the guys returning pick-6's were untouched.
