The #1 reason JJ should start is that he protects the football far better than Lee does and we scored 30+ in each of his starts. I don't care if we score 30 in the first quarter of every game and none the reaminder of the game. If we do that and do not turn it over he has done his part in helping this team win.

+1

Plus JJ showed awesome leadership for a freshman.
But I do hope JL has a chance to redeem himself as a backup.

It's more fun for the Rantards to have catfights about things that are illogical or don't have a snowball's chance in Hell of happening.

Lee CANNOT protect the ball. That is the #1 rule of a QB, do not give the ball to the defense or allow them to get an easy score. If you cannot do this most basic function of even an average QB, you cannot play the game on a high level regardless of how strong your arm is, or how much 'moxie' you have. This one negative negates every other positive that you bring to the table.

so what he "CANNOT" do in his first 8 games as LSU qb, obvioulsy translates to never being able to improve.

WOW... i love the thought pattern.

If JL improves dramatically then he might be as good as JJ. Or we can stick with JJ and see how good he becomes.

Hopefully, we will be able to redshirt shepherd...

We aren't redshirting Shepard.

I actually had a dream last night that he was wearing #11 for us. It was only one play, but he rolled out and took off for a 20 yard gain.

so after two meaningless games and 2 good halves out of 4, u've convinced yourself that JJ is obviously better.
that's good stuff ...i suppose im harder to please.

if you take away the interceptions and overall lack of accuracy and awareness on the field, JL has performed just as well as JJ thus far. He has a much quicker release than JJ. Reminds me a lot of Dan Marino and I just couldn't picture JJ beating out Dan Marino for the starting QB position if Dan Marino was on the team.

That is the funniest crap I have read on here in a long time. Don't you think it would be easier to just replace him with a better qb who will not have all of those problems during games.

so you are able to see into the future?

to think JJ wont experience same problems the JL has (which you do) is what is really comical.

Not saying JJ WILL NOT make some mistakes, I know he's human. Even the best qb's in the game do. Just look at the last few bcs bowl games. There is just no way JJ will play as bad as Lee did. If JJ is declared starting qb in spring and gets all the snaps with the first team he will be top notch. Sure he will probably throw a couple of picks and make some other bad decisions during a game, but no way to the extent of Lee. Jefferson has already shown he can look off receivers, throw the ball away, run away from a rush, or run for a first down when needed. Add some experience over the spring and summer and should only get better.

to hell what the people say we just sit on our asses and watch the game . the coaches will pick who will start by watching them in practice. i persoanlly hope he changes the starting qb according to what team we will play that will screw with the opposing teams head not knowing who they will be up against.

JL cannot improve his escapability/mobility. Name one successful qb college or pros that has been highly successful with no mobility. JL is another Drew Weatherford, Sean Glennon, Blake Mitchell clone. Sadly he is a defenses perfect dream, an immobile qb that is erratic in the pocket, inaccurate and careless with the ball.

After an entire season of Lee and 2 full games of JJ, I, and the majority of non-blind LSU fans, have come to the obvious conclusion that JJ runs LSU's offense better than Lee.
