I understand that Alleva didn't want to get in a bidding war for Herman, but he didn't do LSU any favors by pulling out early. Worst case, he could have driven up the cost for Herman, but instead, Texas didn't overpay for him AND they have room to offer more money for Aranda.

We would be in this situation anyway next year or year after when charlie strong woulda been fired...no way charlie strong was gonna be successful there and you dont have a really good sales pitch to someone that says texas is my dream job
