Will they need to slip down some to be every down players in a 4-3? Not many lineman that heavy in this scheme.

no and wrong board...there are plenty of guys that big in a 4-3

They'll play a 1 tech in a 40 front. Both will command double teams and allow the 3 tech to disrupt. Weight won't be an issue. When they got chances to go 1 on 1 they would maul the o lineman.

Regardless, we are going to have some serious depth on the DL. Either or both will be in on short yardage plays.

but in all honesty, shelvin looked fine in terms of his agility and explosiveness

you can use big bodies to eat up blockers in a 4-3. you're not going to be running a tampa 2 with everyone going 1-gap attacking

Shelvin will be fine at his current weight playing the nose/A gap.

It would be a mistake for him to slim down. He’s A natural 3-4 NG and a likely late first, early second round pick next year.
