Who can replace Terrace Marshall and make those contested catches on 50/50 balls. Which of the current/incoming receivers can fill that role? Jack Bech and Brian Thomas Jr seem to fit the mold but do they have TM7s speed? Why do ppl seem to think jack bechs future is at TE?

TM6*

It's less about height and more about willingness to make contested catches, being strong, and having a great vertical. We have a few guys that fit that mold, and Bech is one of them.

shite, Chase was 6-1, and he won every contested catch he had. It's about will, not height.

A hellacious vertical helps too.

Yeah but Chase was an animal. It seems like having a contested catch guy would really had another dimension. We already have the speed guy in Boutte and the possession guy in Jenkins

Boutte hasn’t been bad going up and getting those balls.

But we do need a second real threat at WR.

Athleticism! Hell the 6'5 plus guys we had in 2018 could not get their body in position to take advantage of the height.'It was the same when Sullivan and was on the field in 2019.
Chase and Marshall had their body between the defender and the ball, then went up and caught it.
Boutte has that also.
I believe the next group also have the athleticism required to be successful.

Isn’t that the responsibility of the people were paying millions of dollars to recruit? Ya think?

Go watch Thomas's hudl tape and you will get your answer... Hell, he returned a KO for a TD.

Boutte isn't very tall but wins most of the 1 on 1's and is a star in the making. Tall is goid but speed, vertical leap and athleticism is more important.

Put Gilbert out there and let those DB's battle him for high throws....and stop running him on 2 yd routes when it is 3rd and 5. I can't count how many passes last year in that exact scenerio. It is rare to find anything in offensive football than doing that, and LSU has to be the nation's leader. Dumbest thing ever.

Yes and they have done an outstanding job since Miles left. He wanted blockers and not pass catchers.
It appears the staff has it under control.

Have you watched Trey Palmer play. If you have you would know he is not going to be much of a factor. Neither will Jenkins. Hopefully Hilton or Thomas can help in that area.
