fourmile2, you are WRONG: our win over Illinois was seven years ago, not six. In the future, you might wanna try getting your facts straight before you post.

i wish people would stop talking about the cupcakes that are scheduled. only the smart teams schedule these cupcakes. we don't have a playoff yet. it doesn't matter if we play cupcakes, hell, i encourage it. we have to run through the sec and that, by itself, will justify a good chance at the bcs title game (no offense auburn). so i say: scheduling cupcakes is a very smart move.

Agreed if your only goal is a shot to win the MNC, however playing good teams is alot more fun than watching LSU beat up on North Texas.

The Pac-10 does suck but this USC team is scary good. I freakin' hate them but you have to give credit where credit is due. Great teams make good teams look bad, which is what USC did to us this year and LSU did the same to us in the NCG. I hope LSU makes it to the NCG again this year and whips them, but I don't think that scenario is going to happen.

Vandy better than VA and OSU? C'mon. As far as playing somebody, playing at UVA and vs OSU is a helluva lot better than LSU's OOC schedule. You better hope Auburn, FL and GA are as good as advertised and that GA wins this weekend...otherwise your SOS takes a hit.

"In that time, they have played Virginia Tech, Michigan, Fresno State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, and Illinois and handled them all."...........

VT (check)
Fresno State (check)
Michigan (no, but he is obviously counting bowl games, so......)
Notre Dame (check - Sugar Bowl beatdown)
Illinois (check - another Sugar Bowl beatdown)
Oklahoma (check - got a crystal football for the effort)

"I will leave out the Arkansas combined score drubbings of 120 – 31 (although I don’t remember anyone else beating Darren McFadden's Hogs 50 -14 at home that year)"......

Wasn't McFadden injured and out for that game?

Do some damn research

I just want to make the point that USC does this every year. They start out hot, look good, get hyped up as the best, then trail off towards the end, and lose to somebody terrible. This is commonplace, they will prolly lay an egg later on. So no need to get worked up about it.

I've been trying to explain this for a while now. USC does NOT do this EVERY YEAR.

They didn't lose to a terrible team in 05. They lost to a very good team with one of the best college football players in recent memory turning in possibly the best performance ever.

In 04 they didn't lose to anyone, and demolished a very good Oklahoma team that many, including myself, thought would expose USC as overrated because of the weak conference they play in.

In 03, they dropped a game they shouldn't have, much like our Tigers did, as they were finding their footing the same way our champion Tigers were.

The only reason that they lost 2 games the past two years is because John David Booty sucked donkey balls, and perhaps a bit of complacency. That shouldn't have come as a surprise to anyone.

The only question about USC in my mind coming into this season was Sanchez, and he has been fantastic so far, so I see no reason they'll drop any seeing as how the PAC 10 is SO wesk this year.

And yes, I agree that if RP was still on the team, LSU and USC would be tied at the top, but at this point our QB situation IS a big knock against our team no matter how much anyone denies it.
