He's like Kade was his freshman year. They both had issues, Kade went to work in the lab now he's a top 10 pick. Let's see what Schmidt does in the off-season.

No, he’s not just like Kade. Maybe the early season versions of each, but Anderson developed over the season and was pitching some high leverage innings in the SECT and Regional last year when we needed another arm to step up.

Schmidt hasn’t progressed like that. In fact, he’s seemed to regress some in recent weeks.

This board is wild. I know "breaking news." Many of the same sentiments that are being thrown out at Schmidt and Evan's are the same ones heard about Kade last year.

I think Schmidt will get it worked out and be a lot better next year. However, he did not turn a corner during the season like Kade did. People were expecting Kade to be a weekend starter at the end of last season because of what he showed down the stretch.

I’d take Evans, Schmidt, or Williams. We need a solid lefty starter. If it won’t be Williams then we need to get one in the portal. Hopefully Guidry comes back to full strength and can be the lockdown closer after his med RS this year.

Hopefully we can get Noot back as well.

A returning core staff of Evans, Schmidt, Williams, Rizy, Guidry, Sheerin, and Noot is exciting with Yeskie working with all of them all offseason.

Schmidt has done exactly what Kade did last year. Lit it up during midweek starts, completely crapped the bed during SEC play. Kade started showing flashes during the regional, but then the season ended.

Schmidt needs to put about 15-20lbs on his frame, that additional strength with help him control his mechanics better. And then he just needs more mound time. The kid is a hard worker, is from BR, and loves LSU so I think he’ll put in the work this offseason. I’m excited to see what he’ll do next year.

You can tell Schmidt has the delivery and arm to be really good. The mechanics just have to be cleaned up a little bit.

and he needs to grow up some. Not all kids are mature enough to be successful at 18. Once he matures some and gets his mechanics right, he will be awesome

I am not throwing any stones at the kid either, I was one of those 18 year olds that wasn't mature.

With this stellar class coming in and add a couple of stud transfers. Another exciting year ahead

Schmidt is scared too death and has no movement on his fastball. Has a lot of improvement to make or he’s not going to be in the rotation
