what's that got to do with
"the team isn't prepared."
Or "playcalling is bad."
Or "a lack of creativity."
all of the above is true
A fan has no accurate way to judge any of that.
We see a play fail and blame playcalling without even knowing what play was actually called.

An avg fan would not be able to accurately judge that.
My point was about LSU football’s culture that starts with Brian Kelly. It’s the heartbeat of your program. Culture over everything IMO.
I have no doubt we have some talent deficiencies in some key positions. We may have some scheme and technique issues too. In game coaching is a different issue all together. And player execution.
The comment my friends were specifically calling out was their take on our culture. How we practice. The level of effort in practice and games. The fight that 1 player can notice in another.

Well, if you are talking about an avg couch potato who only played intramural sports, 100% agree.
If you say former players from that school and some who have played in the NFL, they are more than qualified to judge based on what they see
Meh, T Bob Hebert played at LSU and in the NFL and is a certified moron.
A player from the 80's or 90's will be even more disconnected from the modern college game, I'm not saying there aren't some who are knowledgeable, I'm saying they aren't nearly as infallible as you insinuate.
Being a soldier doesn't actually mean you're tough or a good fighter.

This will all appear to be "lacking" to a player from 30-40 years ago.
It's a completely different game with a completely different player with a completely different mentality.
Heck, it's drastically changed just in the last 15 years.

Well, some college coaches are idiots. LSU has employed some verifiable idiots.
I’ll take a former teammates take over yours any day of the week. Some of these players have sons who are being recruited to play college football and other sports. We are around sports on a high level and have valid options about culture.

You have such valid "options" about the culture that you can't articulate what you're even talking about specifically.

Remind me where you played college football?

What difference does it make?
I could just make something up either way.

Sure I can, it's easy to lie on an anonymous message board, as I'm sure you realize.
For all you know, I'm a coach on the staff.

You already admitted you have no experience.
No current staffer would get caught on here. I’ve heard Kelly is tough on that.
You just want to argue, but arguing out of ignorance isn’t helpful.
If you don’t get the importance of culture, I already know everything I need to know. You don’t need to say more.

I definitely get the importance of culture. I'm saying you have no way of knowing whether the culture is actually bad or not because you aren't in the building day in and day out.
Posted on 11/12/24 at 12:49 am to SidewalkTiger
I know people personally in the building. Still with me?
I live on the west coast, which I’ve said now for the 3rd & last time.
I said the 1st hand account came from teammates who HAVE been on the ponderosa over the last 2 years. I trust their 1st hand accounts that have been posted on the internet.

Enjoy being ignorant

I'm sorry for not believing your vague statements?
