And the current teams accomplishments, $abun should not get any credit for....none.

You obviously are one of those that either dislikes CLM or love $abun or both......Either way you need to let it go. CLM is our coach and $abun is long gone.

Neither the article nor I ever suggested that he should. It's o.k. though, your inability to distinguish the two statements is most likely fueled 60% by paranoia and only 40% by mental incapacity.

At the time, LSU just needed a coach with potential, one hired without too much political infighting.

Nick Saban, a new talent at Mich. State, turned out to be such a hire.

But make no mistake: DiNardo is the one who inherited a flat-lined program, not Nick Saban.

Saban was the right coach to grab the baton from DiNardo, and Miles is proving to be an even better one to grab it from Saban.

All aforementioned coaches deserve respect and for their singular accomplishments, but of the three Miles looks like the coach to go the distance.

Hmmm maybe Les just decided to save his talk, and let his cats loose on the field.

Watched all the pressers from yesterday. Saban is still much better in public speaking, les has gotten better but he can still be hard to listen too,and yesterday he was.

Got any stats to back that up?
Exactly! I don't trust those gump frickers. I want to hear Guilbeau's take on that presser.

Turned the program around - check
Agreed.

Made the program nationally relevant - check
I would say "Returned" instead of "Made" but that's just semantics.

Made the program one coaches look for an opportunity to coach at - check We probably can't even hire Miles, who was having a lot of success at OSU, if Saban hadn't elevated the program - check
So you're saying we could hire a guy from Michigan State that was having a lot of success but not a guy from Oklahoma State that was having success? Completely disagree.

quote:

Saban turned LSU into a strong draw for top high school talent - check
Completely disagree. Dinardo did that. Saban walked into A LOT of talent.

Nick Saban is a dirtbag
Agreed.

he's a good fricking coach and we very well might still be wallowing in mediocrity had he never coached here
He is a really good coach. But he's not the only really good coach. Maybe we are wallowing in mediocrity and maybe we have more championships than we already have. If we don't hire Les Miles we might be wallowing in mediocrity now as well. Nobody knows what would've happened and Saban doesn't get an ounce of credit for LSU not being mediocre in 2011.

The plain fact is, neither Alabama nor LSU would be playing in tonight's title game without Saban.

I couldnt get past that point. If someone who actually gets paid to write articles that the public reads would write something so biased and ignorant, then I am not interested in reading anything else.

Nobody in the media EVER mentioned that Saban won his NC at Alabama with Shula's players.

Nor did anyone mention that he won at LSU with Gerry Dinardo's players. It only gets talked about when it makes Saban look good...get with the program!
