Saban (our backup coach) - one path to forgiveness

Suppose The Hat - God forbid - did go to Michigan.
Suppose the previous year, or the year before that - Saban brought the Gumps a National Title - or even better - came real close to one but didn't get there.
Suppose LSU offers Saban the job and he immediately takes it - ditching the Bama program and dooming them to a crappy replacement.
Suppose he announces this on Christmas Day.
Then... and only then.... would Saban be forgiven.
I love The Hat and think he's the best coach in the SEC. Consider Bammer has having our backup coach. Les leaves - Saban will be here in a heartbeat and he knows it.

Worst 4th post ever, but actually not as impossibly crazy as it sounds imho, if Rich Rodriquez get run out of Ann Arbor in the next few years, of which he will if he doesn't get it together in the next two years..
Les Miles would most certainly get more than the questionably token interview, that it appears that he may have been given this past December?
If LSU were to ever come open in the next three to four years, and if Peterson is still at Boise, that's whom I'd call..he was in my top 3 last Fall when it looked that LSU would need a HC.

If Les goes to Michigan, Saban is in the bag.
He is very literally - our backup coach.
Then the Gumps will complain that we are beating them with Miles' recruits and say the only reason they are losing is because they have Saban's recruits.

Well if he did that then Alabama would really have to call him the bear.
Bear left for Alabama and beat his old team with Alabama team.
Of course, I don't want les to leave, cause he Bo. :D

To all Saban Lovers:
Let it go. Even Al Gore let it go eventually.

Not that Les is ever leaving, but if he did LSU would be looking for the next great coach not the last great coach.

I just know with 99% certainly he'll be back if Les ever leaves.
Not that I care, and Les is not leaving, but there's no way this would ever happen.
First and foremost, if Les left w/in the next 5 years, LSU would be seeking the next great coach.

You don't know that. It depends on how he's treated.
Les knows what its like to be loved in BR. With the exception of immediately after the 05 UT game - he doesn't know what its like to be hated.
If we have a bad season and fans start treating him and his family bad - and a job opens up in Michigan - he'll be gone.

My father knows a former President of TAF. Saban was in the bag if Les had left last year.

I agree with this. Saban was not a household name in coaching until he had success at LSU--what had he really done previous to that? LSU would go out and get the NEXT upcoming coach--we would need someone to come and stay for a while.
But it's a moot point, because Les isn't going anywhere!
