I didn't realize he avg that much. Hell, as bad on O in 09, 10 you think he'd have gotten it a lot more.

I feel like a broken record when ever this comes up, but Shep was best used as runner out of the backfield. He had several explosive plays, esp as a freshman, but his carries declined every year from there, as they forced him to be a traditional WR. Was he good at that? No, not really.

Carries per year:

FR: 45, 6.2 YPC SOPH: 32, 7.1 YPC JR: 7, 7..4 YPC SR: 20, 8.1 YPC

JC Copeland got more carries than Shep this year. Shep will leave LSU with 104 career carries, for 6.9 YPC. Yes, nearly 7 fricking yards every time he touches the ball. That is a goddamn travesty. He should carry the ball 50-75 times per year. Would have been a great wrinkle for the offense.

I dont know how people can say "oh i just didnt see why he was so highly rated"... Honestly, what are you watching? Kid made many explosive plays lining up in the backfield or coming in motion.

It's unfrickingfathomable how unimaginative our offense is. That's a Miles problem, not just Stud.

We should have played RS and Lee in 2011 at QB. Jordan Jefferson should have played another position. Shep would have been a far better choice to run the option, which is basically all Jefferson did any way.

Yet another reason I hate our players tweeting.

What do you people not understand about RS not playing QB? This shite baffles me.

RS was not good enough to play QB. He was an inconsistent WR, average kick returner and unreliable as a back. He received plenty of opportunities. Everyone really really wanted him to succeed.

I don't know what happened between him and Miles but I doubt it was a case of LSU misusing him.

The moron quotient on this board is at all time high.....

Byte (this isn't directed at you)

RS could not throw a college size ball......his passes were dead ducks. As mediocre as JJ was, he was at least a serviceable passer. Add in the fact that Sheppard was only about 5'10", he probably would have been barely able to see over our offensive line.

He even knew that. I have no idea why some people think he would have been.

Agreed.

I disagree but I'm not sure that he wanted to play the position. I have no idea if that was the case, just speculation.

I still do...in whatever he does. He always seemed to be a good kid to me.

That's like saying Peyton Manning is overrated if Denver moved him to TE and he sucked.

Are you serious? That's not relatable at all
