I don't know why LSU fans are so hard up on saying UL is not a top 8 team.

UL beat LSU head to head, so I'm not sure why you'd try to lessen their perceived strength. But more than that, they have 52 wins. Probably 53 after tomorrow. You just don't do that without being EXTREMELY good.

Best outcome for both programs, and for the state, is that UL and LSU both get into the top 8 seeds and pair against lesser regional hosts, giving them both an easier path to Omaha.

ULL is very good. But it's a fact that they've piled up a ton of wins against a crap chedule. LSU had a crap OOC schedule but at least we had 10 series against SEC competition.

Like was stated, ULL will probably be a grand total of 1-0 against top25 teams for the entire season.

Again, ULL is very good, but when you play the 119th rated schedule in the country, you deserve some criticism/doubters.

Where did I say that they are not a Top 8 ? I only supposed what the selection committee might do under certain circumstances.

Mainly because of pitching, baseball is not like a lot of other sports. To determine the best teams you need to play a series. Because of the inclusiveness of college baseball these series need to be only 3 games or in post season play, double
elimination due to time constraints. We are excluding the dumb arse SEC tourney from this format, which is played just for money. Hell, Skip used to throw away some early season games just to get info about his own players. A single 5 inning mid-week game that early in the year means nothing about which team is the best right now!

If you put a high school senior in a 1st grade class and he tests much higher than the kids, what does this prove? NOTHING !! He may be really smart, but we don't know!! We need to see the results of his age-appropriate tests. 53 wins with this schedule tells us nothing other than they are consistent winners against bad teams!

The biggest danger of using sarcasm (in this case it came in the form of explaining the obvious) on the rant is that the tards take you literally! In this case the sarcasm was appropriate because of your conclusion that ULL was proved really good because of this victory in an early season, mid-week, rain shortened game. According to this logic, look out Tulane, they whipped us in 11, 1 month later in the season.
