This! He has turned LSU into a dumpster fire. Good luck getting a replacement who's worth a damn. Nobody in their right mind would want to be part of the toxic mess that LSU has become under Alexander.

Be very careful about Roy King's attorney's comments. What she says doesn't make sense. Looks to me like the administration handled this one fairly well - for a change.

Great point. Who in their right mind would be willing to walk into this mess? It will be career suicide to take that job.

I feel terrible for the current members of TGBFTL. I would quit if I was a student in that organization.

I mean, I guess it can degrade further, but it's been a shell of itself for a while. Isn't he partially responsible for that?

Doesn't the School of Music want to reduce the size of Tiger Band? Our band is already small by SEC standards. If they take away the stipends the band members get, I wouldn't be surprised if membership drops big time.

Good fire .... I would also put the band on probation for their sub par performance these past few years ...

I'm not saying they all the way sucked but southern or st Augustine could do just as well ...

You can also say bye to the Golden Girls.

If you want to see Southern/St. Aug -style shows, go to Southern/St. Aug games.

They say this every time there is a change--Wickes, Moorhouse, King. We get it, bandies, you like the band director. Things sometimes change. You'll have to get over it, I suppose.

The band degraded massively with him at the helm. The quality of band from, say, 2011, put this year's band to shame. That's pretty much true of almost any band from the 2000's as well. The last couple of years have been horrible in comparison to what it used to be.

Also, from having the chance to watch them rehearse this year, he doesn't require them to perform at a very high level. I would watch half of the tubas playing on their phones in the middle of rehearsal and nobody taking it seriously. If you're a band director of a major college band program, you need to do a better job than that.

Frank retired, so that's all well and fine. But Linda didn't deserve what happened to her, and I doubt Roy does either.

I also would point out that LSU's football records with female drum majors is much lower than with male drum majors in the Saban/Miles era. My biggest bone of contention with RK.

Deserve is a different matter altogether. I'm just saying, people acted like Frank, then Linda, now Roy are the only people who can put a competent band together when they left. That isn't true. So, we get it, bandies, you like your guy. There will be a new guy, that person will be perfectly adequate, maybe even exceptional.

Before Mary, there hadn't been a female DM in a long time.

Ok, then you have a meeting in the office in the ivory tower. You tell him the band's level of performance isn't where it should be and it needs to improve or there will be consequences. Give him the opportunity to fix things. Hell, everyone else at LSU lately seems to get the opportunity to fix their frick-ups.

But we both know LSU didn't fire him over the quality of the band. It's money. Pure and simple greed.
