Thanks sunny as I too only remember the one with him ranked one and Collins ranked 3rd or 4th

He will be a good one. He's aggressive for sure and I think he's as solid as any corner who has put on a tiger uniform and STARTED as a true freshman.

Sunshine pumper or not, the kid can play.

He is the most vocal leader on defense and will be a returning full season starter. He is going to lock plenty of guys down this year.

Idk why you are not pleased with his play. Perhaps his blown coverage against Bama did it for you on the touchdown play. However if he had not made that mistake ... of which he is very aware he made .. I wouldn't have a complaint against him at all last year. He can improve and I think he definitely will.

Exactly...

Mills made 1 mistake all year as a true freshman starting at CB in the SEC. Just happened to be the biggest mistake all year.

And im not even sure a seasoned vet wouldnt of make that mistake. Yeldon did an amazing job pretending to be blocking. Mills was man to man on him. When your guy stays in to block, youre free to attack the QB. Yeldon was selling the block for a few seconds, Mills went to the QB, then Yeldon popped out and it was wide open. It was more a delayed screen than a screen.

Other than that 1 play, Mills was solid. Only making 1 MENTAL mistake all season long as a freshman is amazing. Kid is a baller.

Nope. Never said anything personal against the guy. I have no reason to believe he's not a good kid and student and I wish him the best on the football field and in life. My point was that I just don't see a guy who I would trust to lock down a #1 WR. That's all.

Understandable. I would also like to think he may struggle against bigger guys but he is aggressive and strong for his size. I think he will be fine

He played poorly (like the rest of em) in the CFA bowl. DeAndre Hopkins was no slouch though. Tough matchup for a freshmen, and actually just needed to be a little more aggressive. It seemed they were playing with too much cushion.

Mills has great speed, balance and hip rotation. He will be stronger this year and continue to gain strength over the next 2 years. IMO, his only knock is when he is asked to give a cushion he doesn't break as aggressively as he should... maybe fears the double moves, but he should recognize routes and angles better with a year of experience. He and Collins are going to be shut down CBs this year. If LSU gets a pass rush from the front four, there will be many INTs.

Doing well.. back in school. Preston is currently at the hospital in Jackson. I got back from class last thursday and noticed he looked a little more blue than normal and sure enough his SAT's were down a good bit. As a precaution, they are keeping him under observation. The plan is to do a heart cath early next week and then surgery no more than a week after that. That is about 6 weeks earlier than they anticipated for surgery but it's not going to be an issue according to Dr. Salazar. We hope to be home and onto recovery as LSU kicks off (and beats down of course) against TCU.
