If LSU finishes 11-1 and ranked #4 or so, who thinks that Michigan does not come calling for Les? He is in a MUCH stronger position this time than last time, in my opinion. Of course, they might try to woo Harbaugh.
11-1?
Hell, 10-2 in the SEC is like 3 consecutive undefeated seasons in the Bug Ten

Michigan is so screwed up. They have 2 of their Alumni coaching top ten football teams in Miles and Harbaugh and they have huge issues with hiring both of them.
And this is simply the reason they are faced with firing Rich Rod.

Michigan made a mistake in 2007 the way they handled the Les Miles affair. If they had only asked Miles to be their HC, then we would have had a different HC at LSU.
Instead they were dragging their feet with Miles, and their AD thought he had actually lured a bigger fish with Rich Rod. Wonder how that's worked out for them.

If you look at both recruiting and coaching, there's only one or two coaches who we would have a legitimate chance of hiring that are better than Miles. Most of the time, the hiring of a coach has an element of chance to it because you never know how their prior success will translate to another school or conference.
Look at Rich Rod. He hardly ever lost at WVU. Now, he hardly ever wins at Michigan. And it's not because he's a terrible coach, it's just that the things he did well at WVU don't translate well into what Michigan or the Big 10 are good at.
