didnt they lose a game to kansas state?
They lost the game that AJ Morris started. Granted they knocked him around for 13 hits and only 2 Ks.

Damn. So he averages 7.2 IP per outing?
This will be the game 1 starter I assume? We need to get at him early.

Dude Be excited about your baseball team. You will not convince anyone here that Rice is even closely comparable in football. It begins with recruiting and ends with a team that plays in a conference second to the NFL. Your NCAA stats do not translate to a team that is playing in a completely different league.
Ive been very respectful of lsu and its program on this board.
But don't be so quick to assume you know as much about RICE football and I do about lsu football.
I think I can offer a better assessment than many of you cause ive seen both play live and on TV several times over the past few seasons.

Rice football is nothing compared to LSU football. Even when Todd Graham was the coach they weren't.

Yea he will most likely be their Friday starter and he is a tough one. It would be good for LSU to get to any of the Rice starters because their bullpen has struggled.

Can anyone breakdown the three pitchers outside of stats? Stagg, what are their pitches and which ones are their dominant pitch? How hard do they throw?

Berry is a Greg Maddux type, not over powering stuff. But very smart, good location, cant anticipate what he will throw.Has more than once pitch he throws for strikes. When the slider is working, its over.
Ojala.
what he has been and what he is right now are slightly different.Hes still hurting SO he doesn't throw as hard. But he battles again another smart pitcher. Throws harder than Berry. Has a nice curve.
Wall, freshman lefthander
has GREAT stuff, has grown slowly. ALL is confidence and just maybe he got that this weekend with a regional MVP. over relied on a solid change up at times this year. Its his best pitch.

So are they all around 88-90?

Ryan Berry: Goes about 88-91 and can occasionally reach 93. Has an excellent command of the fastball on both sides of the plate. He throws both a knuckle-curve and a slider. I'm probably in the minority in thinking that his slider is the better of his two breaking pitches. He also mixes in a changeup which is improving. He's the best "pitcher" of the three guys. Excellent stamina as well. His velocity and location don't drop off throughout the game.
Mike Ojala: Probably has the best stuff of the 3 although he rarely works deep into games. He's consistently 90-92 and he can get it up to 94. Has a plus slider which is his out pitch. He occasionally works in what appears to be a cutter, but he's mostly a 4-seam fastball/slider guy.
Taylor Wall: He's about 87-90 on the gun with his 4-seamer, but he has an excellent changeup which in effect "speeds up" his fastball. He's got an average curve which he can mix in, but he doesn't feature it much from behind in the count. He likes to throw the change in hitter's counts. Like Berry, he has the potential to go late into games.

Edge to Stagg on the analysis though. That's the info I was looking for. Thanks to both though.

To whom? The fans on a message board? It's not like PM hasn't watched film on them.

I made it to at least one game for virtually every home series. Always out in the Roost.

I would more often if the games didn't conflict with LSU games.
