I get LSU's pre-season ranking based on returning starters (16 out of 22) including the QB position. Winning 10 games last season and beating previously undefeated UCF was another factor I'm sure in the rankings although I'm not sold so much on the previous years success factor. Watching the Tigers play their 1st game of 2019 was enjoyable. They looked exceptional at all facets of the game.

Now let's look at the mighty Texas Longhorns. They had a program defining win against a lethargic and uninspired Georgia Bulldogs. Good for them. They have their potential All-American and Heisman candidate QB returning. They also get to play this game at home. Three very good points. However, their returning cast of characters is not impressive. They will be replacing a lot of folks especially on defense. I just don't see how they are going to come away from this battle on top.

I suppose that's why they play the game on the field and not on paper. LSU looked like great Sat. night as did a lot of teams against inferior competition - including Texas. Tigers look polished and ready to roll.... NEXT!

Well, we’re favored on the road against a top 10 team, so I’m not sure who you’re arguing against. 2 things, though;

1) I don’t but the “lethargic” and “uninspired” Georgia narrative. They suited up in a game where score was kept and the outcome was counted on their seasons’ records—they get credit for that win

2) You mention logic, and I don’t understand the logic of LSU fans shitting on their opponents as overrated. If we win, it diminishes the accomplishment. And God forbid we lose—and make no mistake, we could most certainly lose (I don’t think we will)—it makes it seem catastrophic. I just have never comprehended that “logic.” Like the basketball fans retards who chant “overrated” when a victory over a higher ranked opponent becomes inevitable. Fantastic, geniuses, you’ve just poo-pooed our win.

This is a good, talented and well coached UT team. Emotion and intangibles play a factor in college football and UT will be very fired up to play. This is going to be a hard fought game, but in the end Ehlinger gonna Ehlinger with some picks in the end zone and LSU pulls away late.

I don’t know that Texas sucks this year. But, they will be cleaning dirt out of the ear holes of their helmets through next Wednesday.
