Condensed Replay
My takes:
1. The defense is not as suspect as some suggested, we did give up an uncharacteristically high number of 3rd and longs, but they will work it out
2. Helaire ran with power and poise, hit holes, and made people miss - he did have two really bad pass protection misses giving up sacks at crucial points in the game (3rd down in redzone to settle for FG & 2nd down on last drive of game) but is the unsung hero of the game for me - he fought hard.
3. The 3rd and 17 play might actually have ascended to my favorite LSU play of all time - for me it epitomizes the fact that our offensive identity has changed. We didn't run a draw play to get a few more yards and punt... because we have a qb, we have wr's, we are running routes that make sense, and we have an offense
4. I'll give Texas credit for taking advantage of their opportunities, making us score more points than I thought we'd need, and scoring more than I'd thought we'd give up.
5. This year will be fun - see you all in Nashville in a few weeks!

Ehlinger couldn't have directed some of his balls better with a remote control. Hats off to him for fitting some of those balls in such small windows. It was very very very impressive. A lot of those plays had good coverage just he fit it in.

Although Ehlinger did fit some throws in tight spaces, he missed some wide open receivers early really bad.
