Bama gets one or two egregious calls per game. Especially in Tuscaloosa. From the Peterson non int. To the three holds on a Hurts TD in BTR. When my high school teammates played for LSU they had two games in T town. LSU 12 to 14 penalties Bama zero. Going to T town is like going to,your worst high school rival with their Dads as the referees. Auburn is similar

There isn’t a person on tigerdroppings that can even screw up something at their job as big as that blown call keeping the Saints out of the superbowl. In the real world you get fired things so much less egregious that you cant even compare them.

If ANYBODY thinks they can do better, just start with your local youth football league. They are begging for officials. Just jump right in and see how easy it is. But like most, people always want to tell someone else how to do their job. Those officials are the best in their field. IF they weren't, they wouldn't be there.

Not saying I can do better. This guy is reffing the nfc championship game. He is literally supposed to be the best person walking the face of the earth for this job. He was looking right at it from 5 feet away. He even told the defender he thoight the ball might have been tipped. So you throw the flag and then get together with the refs and watch the pass on the jumbotron while you discuss the play. Simple.

It was easy to know who the ref's bet on on the NFL champ. game! The Rams probably called Saban & ask who they should get to Ref.the game! Sad he could not get his boys to Ref. the National Championship game! As a result the Gumps got skulled fricked by another Tiger CLEMSON! Hmmm 44-16! all u GUMPS !

My thing is how frustrating it is after a blantant missed call that things are just accepted. As a coach how do you not run to the middle of he field and create a big scene to try and create more awareness about it. Sure it’s totally unprofessional but if the fix is in why not try to expose it.

It was so obvious that it appears more IGNORED than missed.

All of the elements of "pass interference" were present.

bullshite. There was nothing unusual at all about the game or the calls made by the referees.

I agree with them being humans. Humans make mistakes, it's inevitable. With that being said, in a game with such exposure and so much riding on it, like the Saints game today, for the officials to say, "Well, we got that wrong." It's a double edged sword. You admit you screwed up but it doesn't change the outcome of the game, when during the game, it mattered a whole lot.

This is the problem. They knew immediately after the game they had mad a mistake and owned up to it. The time to do that was when they convened right after the play was over. They were within their powers to change the call at that time. The ref said he thought the ball had been tipped. Well, all he needed to do was to ask one of the officials at the LOS if they saw the ball tipped. If that referee says he didn't see a tipped ball, then it's an easy PI call. I do feel sorry for refs at times because they're in a completely thankless job, and yes people do make mistakes, but when they have the chance to correct those mistakes and wait until it's too late, then I have a problem. The bigger problem is there is little to no accountability. So they issued the Saints an apology. Big deal, nothing else will come from it. If refs actually relied on their incomes and knew they could face potential suspension without pay, then they would be more inclined to do the right thing more times than not.

Refs rarely determine the game. The players do. Yesterday, if the Saints score touchdowns their first two trips down in the red zone they don’t need a pass interference call at the end of the game. Same with some of the LSU-Alabama games. Score points during the game and a bad call by a ref late in the game has less impact.

Stop, following the rules is part of the game too and something the players control. When players violate a rule, the refs job is to hold said player/team accountable for said violation. Saying, well they could have done this, that, or the other and still won is a cop-out. The Saints did what they needed to do, under the rules, to win the game in regulation. The Rams did not. They committed a penalty at the end of the game that should have lost them the game. Yes, in a perfect world the Saints would have been up by enough points where a bad call wouldn't have affected the outcome of the game. But we're talking about the two best teams from the NFC playing in a game to go to the Super Bowl. This game should have been expected to go down to the wire based on the matchup. And if you have a close game and a call has such a drastic effect on the outcome, saying the Saints should blame themselves by not being up by more points when the call happened is a lazy argument.

Unless they were following their marching orders.

Look I'm not a conspiracy theorist, in fact yesterday before that bullshite no call, I was arguing with fans that always complain about how Goodell wont allow the saints into the superbowl and how the game was rigged.

After that no call tho, hell I'm a believer at this point. There us no other explanation

You mean like saying the ref should have made the call when we all know they are human and miss calls?

No, it is not lazy, it is fact. It is a 60 minute game. Numerous things went wrong to cost them the game. Not scoring TDs the first two possessions. Throwing an INT in overtime. Being unable to stop the Rams second best back.

It is lazy to say one call or play cost a team a game, not the other way around.
