the real problem is when mccarthy got canned we lost commitments from davis and hunter. we had to take boone, wright, fobbs and williams who are average sec wr at best. we have no experience at wr. no sr. or jr. experience. landry, boone, and wright all caught less than 10 passes last yr. we are just very, very inexperienced at wr and combine that with a new qb.

Agree. We don't have a Bowe, Clayton, lafell or Randle this year. We have a bunch of #2 guys.

Agreed on Fobbs and Williams but Boone was a pretty big recruit, he wasn't a fall back guy.

I think there have been more "open-ness" than last year. I think the O-line is struggling enough to effect Metts ability to see the whole picture consistently. It will get better.

saw some good patterns but usually let down by drops when the throw was on point.

Agree, but I believe it to be more of a problem with the routes. LSU runs very simple routes to attack the seams. Most of the routes are vertical routes with very little crossing routes underneath designed to find holes in the coverage. These routes are easier to cover. They are particulary easy when you only have 2 or 3 recievers to worry about.
THIS! i totally agree with THIS!

jarvis landry plays like a 6'4" reciever. I'd trust him more than TT to go up and get a ball. i dont know why but we havent targeted him on a deep ball since i believe the UW game. instead we've been throwing to ODB, who seems to be on pace to set an LSU record for drops, and then last night shep. I think landry would have absolutely caught that ball in the endzone. dude has like a 40+ inch vertical and absurd body control in midair

I think Boone is our best reciever
