disappointed that Mikayla Williams still looks out of shape.

Mulkey reiterated in her presser last night, that Mikayla is still nursing an ankle injury, that either kept her out of preseason practices and games, or severely limited her minutes. She started this game by missing her first 3-4 shots, then was fire from mid range. She finished 7/14 from the floor, but 0/2 from 3.

Last year, as a true freshman, MW12 averaged 14.9 pts & 4.5 rebs per game. I’m not really worried about her production, or her inability to drive this year. Just needs to regain strength & mobility in her ankle. The good news is in the rare occasion that her shots aren’t falling, Kim can put in a guard off the bench to replace her scoring. This team should be explosive on O and really fun to watch.

Was not overly impressed by the new PGs

Give day Wilson some time, she will be fine. Sheppard is gonna be a major part of this years team so getting her back soon is going to be a big boost

For me, the team looked very solid yesterday, you can tell chemistry is still a work in progress, I’d like to see more ball movement instead of individual one one one on the offensive end.

Mulkey teams at LSU have always started slow and get significantly better as the season goes along

While Gilbert might not be the best on defense...she's athletic as hell, & she's going to put up a LOT of points.

Gilbert is an interesting case. She averaged 15 points at Arizona, but she and the coach didn't see eye-to-eye apparently and Gilbert was kicked off the team in February.

After Gilbert left, Arizona went on a run and started playing well, to the point where the coach savagely said in the paper that Gilbert leaving was "addition by subtraction"

Gilbert can start at a lot of places, but she will come off the bench here. I am sure she knew that coming in.

Who knows if the clash between Gilbert and the Arizona coach was Gilbert's fault or the coach's fault. It is probably somewhere in the middle. But it is interesting that Gilbert chose Mulkey as her new coach, seeing as how Mulkey is known for not tolerating bullshite.

Maybe Gilbert had an "Alexis Morris moment" and decided that she needs Mulkey in her life. Either way, I think Gilbert will be a good addition and she seems good with her role.

A Del Rosario (23) 5 reb I know some people tempered expectations from her coming last year as a 5-star but do we expect her to develop into a good player down the road? Is she basically all defense/rebounding and no offense in her time here?

I thought the same thing in the warmup games. She looked heavier and slow. I didn't realize that she had ankle surgery in the offseason and is playing her way into shape. Unless/until she gets faster, you're correct... she's going to be a bit player.
