JR didn't really get a ton of praise nationally until after the Sugar Bowl win over Notre Dame. Then he ended up being the #1 pick.

Fine, but he won't.

This will go on for another 20 pages of people discussing bust or not.

He won throw alot of int's... He might take sacks... But he wont throw int's. He probably will have 6 int's and about 19 passing and 6 rushing td's

Senior, Sophmore, or Freshman doesnakt matter. DJ had lots of playing time the year before he started, hell he played better than Green a few games when was put in. Flynn and Shockley had about the same amount of PT before taking over. It's all about confidence. Confidence in yourself and from teammates. Lee lacked it when he made mistakes as did the team. Jefferson looks like he has it.

I think a lot of people or underestimating the talent Jefferson is surrounded by. Some of these bubble screens to Lafell and 10 slants to Randle will turn into big plays because of the talent receiving the passes. I also like the arm strength Jefferson has and I see him stretching the field a lot more than both Lee and Flynn did when they played QB. I wouldn't be shocked to see Shepard throw a couple of TDs and run for a few either.

Lafell 900 receiving yds, 8 TDs
Toliver 600 receiving yds, 9 TDs
Randle 400 receiving yds, 4 TDs
Dickson 300 receiving yds, 3 TDs

2914 yards
22 TDs
12 INTs

3 rushing TDs
214 yards

58% completions

9-3 record

Again based on 3 games 1 a win 1 a loss and 1 we give credit to Lee for the loss.

So 1-1 53% completition 4 touchdowns 1 INT
2.5 yards rushing avg
9 sacks
4 fumbles
less than 200 yards a game passing

and he is all of a sudden better?

And my favorite line

Take that from Stuart Smiley?

Yet people believe he will beat Flynns stats from NC title season of
2407 Yards
21 Touchdowns
56.3%
11 interceptions
26 sacks taken
125.76 QB Rating....

From a first year Sophmore QB with only 73 attempts to his credits?

This seems very reasonable imho. And that would be a VERY good season. I think the yards might be high though, because I think both Lee and Shepard will see some time, so JJ will probably get less snaps than the typical starting QB.

Best of my knowledge bowl stats now count for season stats... I think everyone is taking that into account when they are discussing JJ stats. I know I was

I know, I was just clarifying

17 TD's is not THAT great for the regular season.

You act like no one can touch flynn's stats, when flynn's stats weren't that great to begin with.

i'll say right now that if Jefferson starts all year, he'll have more than 17 regular season TD's.

which would be more than flynn.

He also missed 2 games, so his stats could have been better. I mean Flynn had 359 attempts in 12 games while Russel had 342 attempts in 13 games. So I dunno what I am trying to prove but I found that interesting actually that Flynn had more attempts in less games than JR.

I said what I think 18/13 for , I dont think his first season he puts up what Flynn put up his senior season.
Now by his senior season if he starts next year, and previous season then yes he should throw for 2500 yards with 25 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, leading LSU to 11-2 or 12-1 record.
