m not sure what this means.

quote:

anyway, what was our avg starting field postion?

take away the td pass to RR what is JJ's avg comp per throw?
When is the last time youve seen this offense under JJ go 75-80 yrds in 13 /14 plays?
I hope he gets better and he prob will, but in the mean time I think JL should be given opp to get some snaps in and see if he has better luck keeping the chains moving.

it means that the LSU offense score 3 touchdowns in the first half by itself. That means a qb is doing his job regardless of whatever reasoning you would end up using. He had two td passes.

and then, in my opinion, LSU's coaches pulled the plug. Something was going right, and LSU had all the momentum and then they just stopped. I thought a good example of this was Shepard not touching the ball the entire second half.

And they were really good decisions.

He picked up good yards on the option plays.

Is there anyone who is upset about JJ running the option Saturday? That was an obvious bright spot.

Do you ever ask yourself, why they constantly take the ball out of JJs hands? Obviously there's a reason they put your million dollar contract on the line.

so Jefferson was the reason that LSU almost lost the other night?

perfect exapmle of this is in the 3rd qrter I believe, RR fell down.. on this paticular play he was JJ's primary, he freaked .. he didnt know where to throw the ball..
Herbstriet even made reference to it and on the replay it was obvious.

Thats the type play that makes me believe he's same as last year.

If the staffs were reversed on Saturday night, does anyone think that Butch Davis would have had any issues coaching the Tigers to an easy victory?
We win that game by 40, if coaching staffs are reversed.

He did cause a fumble to Shepard on poor spacing on the option yet again. For whatever reason, the team simply cannot get the spacing right on that play with JJ running it.

For the read options, yeah, he looked pretty good, but our running game is still designed like shite.

that's fine. nobody's claiming that he's god's gift to qbs.

But was he the reason LSU almost lost? The main reason?

That is exactly what my dad said about him. I thought that he looked okay. Few mistakes but he wasn't killing us.

the problem with the QB's is that neither ever settle into the flow of the game and manage the offense. Stats and pure mistakes only tell part of the story. The QB has to be able to utilize his instincts, savvy, leadership, etc. to drive an offense efficiently and consistently. Now, this could very well all be primarily an issue with Crowton, but if I have complaints about JJ, it is around these concepts.

he was part of the reason.

He is the qb.
The offense didnt fricking score a single point in the second half.
So yes a portion of that will ALWAYS fall on the qb's shoulders.

Its mainly his inability to move the team. Yes, we scored 3 offensive TDs. Short field, and one-hit wonders against a confused, depleted defense.

Our longest sustained drive was 30 yards.

That will not cut it against fully-manned SEC teams.

Your father understands that we are ranked #86 against a scout team defense, and are well on our way back to 112th. At some point we will need JJ to march us down the field. He can't.

it doesnt fricking matter what type route it was.
Often time in the game of football, plays dont fold out they way they are drawn up.
He has to be able to overcome it and he didnt.

Its not really debateable.

he didn't look good running the "option". He looked fine on the zone read plays. Someone needs to rip the option and the power off-tackle plays out of the playbook.

So he gets no credit for the 30 scored in the first half. . .but shoulders a major part of the blame for not scoring in the second half?

BT, if Jefferson puts up 2k+ passing yards with 26 TDs and ~10 INTs (or less) over the course of this season would you be unhappy with his individual performance?
