Don't remember ever thinking he was my a-hole. I hated him when he was at LSU!

The only interesting thing I got from the vid is when Saban said that sometimes Les is more.

I remember someone posting awhile back, an alabama fan said he is never happy even if they win and play a great game he always has a problem with something. I'll take the guy who understands it's kids playing this game and are going to make mistakes. Even if they don't play the best, of he gets a W, he is happy and acknowledges they had fun out there.

If you want to see what a miserable soul he is watch his interview after the "Blue Grass Miracle". Any one else on Earth would have been elated.

I hope it was because he's concerned that Steele knows the Alabama version of the secret playbook.

I stopped the video to get a read on Saban's facial expression, and his countenance changed as soon as Steele's name came up.

The story of him calling Mauck and Clayton in immediately after the 2004 Sugar Bowl is emblematic of his personality and work ethic.

What story?

I liked his fire and was happy to have him when he was here, but recognized him as someone who would never be satisfied.

After the previous few coaches, it was refreshing to see someone who (1) seemed to be personally invested in the results and (2) was smart enough to give some insight into what went right and wrong. That's probably why my impression of his personality was not as negative as now.

Oh no doubt. I've never seen any coach who is as miserable, and as much of a count as Nick Saban is. Bill Belichick, and Bill Parcells are the only other two that come to mind.

Petrino seems like more of a sociopath than Saban,

Saban's a giant raging a-hole, but deep down, he's not a completely horrible human being.

Petrino is a horrible human being, through and through.

Confetti was still streaming down - fans were partying in the Superdome - one or both players was still in cleats and pads, and he calls them into an anteroom and says, "I have to have an answer - are you coming back next year or not?"

Prick couldn't enjoy the biggest game and win of his miserable life... Plus ruins it for the kids who ran through walls for him.

He also just stepped over one of his Dolphin players - who could have been dead for all he knew. Terrible person, but man - he can coach a football team.

If you switch the schools, I honestly don't know if there is a much different number in either number.

Not sure what the point of riding the ride is if you're miserable all the time. Nick's pathetic attempt at a smile is painful to watch. We've all seen it. If all the success he's had over the years doesn't make him happy, then I'm not sure what will. Proof I suppose that success doesn't make you happy. You have to do that by yourself by deciding you're just going to be happy regardless.

He called them both in immediately after the trophy presentation in the Dome and told them he needed to know then and there if they were coming back for their senior season. Had to plan and such.

Ehhh, no way Les turns Bama around like Nick did.

I'm not positive Nick would have as much sustained success as Les has had here, though, for as long as he has.

In short, both probably belong best where they are now.

He's probably not actually miserable, just continually dissatisfied. I think part of him enjoys being a prick to people.

Saban seems to see football as a serious of problems that need to be solved while doing his best not to notice or care about anything else. When the season ends, it's time to start thinking about the next series of problems. I think urban Meyer is the same way, but add in being an emotional basketcase.

Miles sees a great atmosphere, feels the excitement around him, and sees a bunch of college kids playing hard for him. He doesn't like to lose either, but if he does, he still sees all the nice things for what they are.

He has done great there as far as record. But I don't see Saban fitting in and feeling comfortable at Bama. He's not a country-boy type and so it seems like you get the wins, if you are a Bama fan, but not the connection to the HC. As goofy and unorthodox as CLM is at times, I really like the guy and really appreciate his love of LSU and how he treats his players.

So, as it turns out, the guy eating grass on the sidelines is in all actuality the most well adjusted of them all.
