Question for those at the Game

I noticed Barber would sprint to the nearest hash or center of field after a 1st down catch to place the ball. You could see refs asking for the ball to be tossed their way but he would physically go place it. It wasn't clear from TV, but did y'all notice if Barber's technique works by allowing the O to go faster and avoid any D substitutions?
