What did we do differently in the second half / what adjustments were made. I gotta half way decent offensive mind, but never coached or played a single down on defense, like not even as a 7 year old. All I know is that ole miss offense worked well in first half, or at least decently, but in the second half, they DID SQUAT.

What did y'all see that Coach A did differently?

Not an X and O's guy, but when Rod Taylor went out at LT, the pass rush was much more effective. That was a big factor.

I thought they took away the middle of the field and (all game) didn't allow Engram any easy full releases off the line most of the game. Which limited obviously some of their passing but would also limit Kelly's legs somewhat. At least didn't give him good looks (pass or run) that he could jump on.

One thing I couldn't discern was why the normal picks (be ready, Bama does same) weren't working. That's their go to across the middle and short-wide.

Gambled the sideline and our DB's could handle the outside WRs. I've noticed that Ole Miss likes to edge (not line up, but "drift") those outside guys closer to the sideline than normal; if DB takes outside position they run inside route, if DB lines up with inside position that "drift" helps create more space (also creates more space for inside WRs with a clearing action). Of course our DBs were more than happy to help them edge over that way.

LSU's offense made them one dimensional. Field position for Ole Miss was not favorable. It is tough sledding when you force a team into those situations while flashing an offense that appeared unstoppable minus the turnovers.

that defensive front got crazy push ...

when it comes to defense (probably football in general), it's an inside out game. control the trenches, and that allows for flexibility outside the trenches

Remember Adams breaking up the pass to Engram at the goal line on 2nd down of the OM drive we held to an FG? When they showed the slow mo replay, you could tell that he saw the pick coming and beat the rub guy to the spot and blew up the play. That is a testament to Aranda's cerebral approach. That play wasn't an accident. It happened because of film study and preparation. It's no accident that Engram was taken out of his rhythm. It happened because a game plan was designed to shut him down. Give this man time and he will make us into the best D in the SEC again.

I am very interested to see how Auburn's D stacks up with Ole Miss. I know they have been very good this year, and they have a great D Line. However, we know that Steele had nothing to even slow down OM last year when he was here. It may be too late. OM may completely roll over and give up. However, I wouldn't be surprised at all if they put a few dents in Steele's D before they go down. They are not going to have the kind of game plan that we did last Sat.

Actually, If I'm not mistaken, they beat the pick play to Engram on consecutive plays down there on the goal line. The one you mentioned, then another pick play to the opposite side to Engram also broke up by Adams.

Wouldn't surprise me. Their offense lives on pics and rubs. We all saw how much they struggle without them working.
