How did you come to be a fan of LSU?
I personally went to LSU, but didn't give a shite about LSU until I went to school there.
Just curious to hear some stories about when, how, and why you became a fan of LSU. I don't know that I would have ever become a fan if I hadn't gone there...

Parents and friends brought me to games since I was like 7 yrs old. Feel in love with LSU football then. Graduated from another college

...grew up in Zachary, didn't have cable all we saw was syndicated TV which back in the ate 70's was LSU sports. Parents moved to Texas in the late 80's but LSU was all I ever watched....and still is.

Born and raised in New Orleans....my Dad and his Dad graduated LSU....I attended Floruda State University to be different....Difference being, I am an FSU fan, always pulling for them to win, but not completely emotionally invested in the Noles like I am the Tigers. I graduated Brother Martin High School in 1990, so it goes without saying that the Tigers were shite then and the Noles on top of the world....Didn't matter to me, I bled purple over garnet every day of the week and twice on Saturdays.

Family went to LSU and I have been going to games since I was about 5. I live in Texas and didn't need to go to a big University for what I wanted. I love LSU but would have been foolish (to me) to spend a bunch of extra money to get an education degree.

I posted this before....
For me, I gravitated towards LSU sports very early. Ironically, my first LSU game was one where they got spanked by A&M in the early 90's. To me I always felt like LSU represented Louisiana. When I graduated from high school in '97, I joined the Air Force. LSU became sort of my connection to home. I can vividly remember while I was in Basic Training, my dad sending me articles and news paper clippings of LSU's run and victory in Omaha.
I think for many, LSU is more than a school to Louisianans. It's part of our culture, and part of that whole Louisiana Saturday Night mystique. In my opinion, it's not important whether you attended classes on campus, but rather you joined in and support the school and what it represents. All one has to do is remember back that Arizona St. game some 6 years ago, to understand that as LSU goes, so goes the state.
While I attended SELU. My view of them were completely different. SELU to me was just a school, whereas LSU represented something far greater.

I have been an LSU fan since childhood...my dad went to Northeast (ULM now) due to money and my Uncle (his brother) went to LSU because he was the "older brother"....my dad told me he couldnt afford to send me to school so I joined the AF and went to school on Uncle Sam and did my college work wherever I was stationed thru the years and finally recieved by B.A.(Eastern Illnois, '92). But bleed purple and gold all the time. Had to keep up with the Tigers listening to WWL on Sat nite before ESPN and cable....
