You’re misinformed. Burrow played in the same size high school in Ohio as Brennan did in MS. Brennan played against nothing but public schools, not prep schools. Both Brennan and Burrow ran the spread offense and both had prolific stats although Brennan threw for 5000 more yards than did Burrow. Burrow did not play or start until his 4th and 5th years in college. Brennan will start and play his 4th and 5th years in college in an offense he has run since he was in the 8th grade. So I’m confused about where all the doubt is stemming from. Brennan will be great.

He's not the answer for us next year I fear. Thoughts?

Why bring him in if you are going to slow it down and mostly hand it off?

The only part of the offense that he is getting use to running is getting the snap from center, and handing off. They are not allowing him to learn to run the offense in game situations, even if it is only mop up duty. They could put GJ in to run the shite that MB is running.

I doubt you are a coach.
Putting Brennan in the game gives him experience in the game atmosphere. He will practice running the game plan once he is the starter.
Why would you want Burrow taking hits once the game has been won?

You are doing Brennan no favors because he doesn’t get reps running the real offense.

Burrow got zero reps last year running this year’s real offense

The more reps Brennan gets now, the better he will be next year.

Joe got to actually throw the ball whennhe was a sophomore at Ohio State

We don’t just limit Brennan to 3-4 throws but he basically only doesn’t it in long downs.

This isn't a thing. They play public and other private schools in MS and LA.

Any qb can do handoff and mop up duties. Putting Brennan in just to play handoffs doesn't help him much. Why not having the same game plans as Burrow's and see what he can or can't do and to see if he can learn from mistakes or we need to look for another qb for next year.

Question about Brennan

I guess people don't realize Brennan has more game reps at this point of his career than Burrow had when he got to LSU. So tell me, how many true freshmen that start for their schools have game experiences running the offense (outside of practice) before they are on the field running with first teamers, in games? The worst thing LSU could have done is put Brennan in bad situations and have him getting hit or throwing interceptions. The receivers he was throwing to were not first teamers, they were 2nd and 3rd teamers. And in practice the first teamers get most reps and coaching. They did with Brennan exactly what they needed to do, let him run the offense, manage the offense and run clock. Brennan has a better arm than Burrow and is just as accurate. He doesn't need to run the offense for coaches to know that he can in a game. Tua didn't have much game running the bama offense before he took over for Hurts. Trevor Lawrence had NO game time running Clemson offense before he beat out Kelly Bryant, Tommy Hodson had NO game time running LSU's offense when he won the starting job his Rfr season. You people have no clue what you are talking about. You have NEVER played QB in any type of game, not even in the backyard, definitely not in an organized game. But you put this crap out here thinking you are smart when really you just show how ignorant you are.
