Ridiculous idea. Feel bad for the kid and his family. Let's not sensationalize it.

There was a thread on this yesterday. BamaScoop sent letters to Bama and LSU and said that the NCAA or SEC would not allow it. He has not been a direct member of either program.

I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see the SEC office allowing LSU to do it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they would be establishing a precedent by allowing a school to honor a non team member/staff member in that fashion. Unfortunately, logic & common sense don't always apply in the SEC office.

About what? Sid or the SEC or NCAA?

They do not want to set a precedence. Eventually you wouldn't even know who was playing from all the memorial material for every fan who had passed. If it was an ex player, coach, athletic director, etc they would allow it.

Coach Miles can make him an LSU player today, can't he?

Could not disagree more. He live in the middle of Alabama country but loved the Tigers. I think a SID decal would be perfect and totally appropriate.

I think it would mean a lot to his parents.

And something tells me Sid would have liked that.

It's funny how something so insignificant as a football game can mean so much to a person, to a community. There's nothing wrong with embracing it. It shows the better part of our nature.
