re: Pulling for Florida or Alabama?

Pulling for Florida and that was an EASY decision.
Florida loses they are pissed next week when we play them. If Bama loses we have a much better chance at an SEC champ game.
And I just plain hate Alabama.
This is an obvious answer for me.

Ok, I realize how crazy this hypothetical is and maybe I'm not conveying my question well. I understand what you just said, and that makes sense, but Bama would also have 1 loss. So there would be three 1 loss teams in the SEC West, all of which one has beaten the other. What would be the tie-breaker?
I believe Bama would go because their loss would not be to a West team.

The loss would be to us...
Ok, breaking it down:
LSU: 1 loss to Ark
Ark: 1 loss to Bama
Bama: 1 loss to LSU
Who goes to the SECCG? I'm sorry if I'm not making my question clear.

Mike_Linebacker - you were the last post that i read before replying. I just clicked reply. It wasn't directed to you.
for all that's saying, "oh nooo, if Florida loses, they'll be so mad when we have to play them..."
that's so dumb.
whether they win or lose, they'll be ready to play us the next week. the world will be watching. it'll be a statement game for both teams. they'll be amped up either way.

Florida will not be pissed off if they lose...They know they are outmatched...what UF has to worry about is how physical it will be and they know how physical it will be against LSU also. So, I think UF will be a little beat up for when they play us.

There is a way to do it. I forgot. Maybe total points against/for? Look it up on SEC's website.

That is not dumb at all. Happens every week in football. Florida is going all out against #1 on the road. If they lose they will come out with something to prove, backed into a corner. You sound like you have neither played nor watched football in your life. If Florida wins big, they may get complacent against LSU the next week.

Ok thanks. Sorry for partially hijacking my own thread on a hypothetical.

Florida, without question.

Yeah that's not dumb at all...
If Florida wins they'll probably get a little cocky and say "we stopped Ingram and McElroy, it will be easy for us to stop LSU's run game and JJ", which would be a huge benefit for us IMO.

Three or more-team procedure
1. (Once the tie has been reduced to two teams, go to the two-team tie-breaker format.)
2. Combined head-to-head record among the tied teams.
3. Record of the tied teams within the division.
4. Head-to-head competition vs. the team within the division with the best overall (divisional and non-divisional) Conference record and proceeding through the division. Multiple ties within the division will be broken from first to last.
5. Overall record vs. non-division teams.
6. Combined record vs. all common non-divisional teams.
7. Record vs. common non-divisional team with the best overall Conference (divisional and non-divisional) record and proceeding through other common non-divisional teams based on their order of finish within their division.
8. The tied team with the highest ranking in the Bowl Championship Series Standings following the last weekend of regular-season games shall be the divisional representative in the SEC Championship Game, unless the second of the tied teams is ranked within five-or-fewer places of the highest ranked tied team. In this case, the head-to-head results of the top two ranked tied teams shall determine the representative in the SEC Championship Game.

i'm the one that doesn't sound like i've never played nor watched football?
these are two of the top teams in the country. If you think they don't go out every saturday with a chip on their shoulder and animosity agains the other team, you're retarded.
Florida/LSU isn't the most storied rivalry in all of sports, but every year, no matter the record, they go out and play a hard fought game.
no matter who they played the week before
no matter if they won or lost the week before.
if your theory held any water at all, wouldn't it be a genius idea to lose the week before every big game? ...so you can get your team "oooh, soooo mad... grrr"
that's retarded.
so, hopefully LSU loses to Tennessee this week so we can assure ourselves of a win against Florida, right?
because there's no way that the team can get up for that big game otherwise... right?

Florida. As much as I hate them....I hate...yes hate...Alabama more.
With a Bama loss that puts us #1 in the west. We play Bama and beat them...puts us essentially 3 games ahead of them.
