I'm sure USC was purposely avoiding AU, especially considering they beat them two consecutive years.

Yeah, except they went undefeated on this year and only allowed an average of 11 points a game.

I thought the 2003 AP title for USC was OK at first eventhough they should have respected the BCS. If teams have loses we have things to judge them on. The BCS used something as unbiased as possible to break basically a three way tie at the top that year to make a NC.

Now I lost complete respect for the 2003 AP title after Auburn's treatment by the media and the USC program. Auburn was just as star studded as USC that year and there should have been more controversy about 04 than 03. You would have never known that great Auburn team existed it the way most of the media and USC carried on. I therefore do not respect the AP anymore and will accept the BCS champion with ni afterthought unless there is a situation with another 04 Auburn.

If USC was in the SEC they would not have been as successful. The records would be right on par with UF and LSU.

4) Florida; 2 NCs, 2 SEC titles, 1 Orange Bowl
5) Ohio St.; 1 NC, 3 NC game appearances, 5 Big 10 titles, 3-time Rose Bowl participant
6) Texas; 1 NC, 2-time Big 12 winner, Rose Bowl win, Fiesta Bowl win

With their bowl record, you really can't put OU in front of UF.....

I agree with USC followed closely by both UF and LSU tied.

Personally, I like my chances for "team on the last 2 decades" title a lot better.

OU is like the buffalo bills of the BCS. they can make it there, but that's about it. they'ar 1-5 in BCS games this decade.

If you go by consistency throughout the decade, how can Fla. really be considered? They are definitely the team of the last three years without question.

For the 2001 (first year of the decade) through 2008, how can we not agree that USC has been the team of the decade, so far?
Oh yeah, it sounds treasonous, but LSU has a chance at it. If we win in 2009 or 2010 (the last year of the decade, then I would rank LSU as number one.

Oh yeah, LSU finished out of the top 25. Any other team like that has to have a great rest of the ten years to be considered.

Oklahoma in 2003, 2004, and 2008 seasons made it to BCS and lost. Texas makes it only once and have not had the record overall that USC does. Fla's record in 2001, 02, 03 and 04 hurt their chances so far.

I have to disagree with this. The schedule you play through the season is a big component of what makes your football team. Usc plays in the pac 10, so they are as strong as there conference is. If with that talent, they played in the sec they would be a better football team. In 03 I believe LSU would of beat USC because they were more battle tested due to the conf they play in, not athlete vs athlete. See what I mean?

Florida: 2 NCs, 2 SEC Championships

Tip ball to LSU

1 Florida/LSU
2 USC
3 Texas
4 Oklahoma
5 OSU

Don't know who to give #1 to but I think this is about right. Oklahoma and OSU are quickly moving down with their FAIL tendencies in the BCS.

LSU and UF...USC is behind

I think next year will see someone take a lead. Up until this year we had a lead over everyone. UF has caught us and USC has closed some ground on us. JUST MY OPINION.

05 11-2 12-1
06 11-2 11-2

USC plays an easier conference

They have three Heisman winners
We have zero Heisman winners

Heismans are a biased trophy which generally favors the Big & Pack 10

CONCLUSION USC doesn't figure AT ALL

Repeating this over and over doesn't make it true. College football has a history of split titles and the last occurred in 2003.

And it'll happen again until the NCAA sanctions a playoff to crown a true champion.

I gotta say Gaytors right now. Both MNC teams lost only one game. UF didn't let negativity into the locker room like LSU did this year. That's a credit to the players and coaches. Tigers regressed this year but will definately be back. I shutter to think about Teabag coming back for his senior year. Slug fest with the defending champs once again in Tiger Stadium!

I think it's a dead heat between LSU an FL with USC slightly behind. The winner next October in Baton Rouge should be in the cat-bird's seat.

You're right. The media HAS been splitting titles for quite some time. It's like a child saying "IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE WAY I PLAY THE GAME, THEN I WILL JUST GO PLAY MY OWN GAME- TAKE THAT" childish at best
