SEC games this week
UF vs EKU
UGA vs Charleston Southern
USC vs South AL
Bama vs WCU
Auburn vs Samford
MSU vs Vandy (3-7 record)
Ole Miss vs Arky (5-5 record, and they ain't bama)
LSU ATM off
Sure, we have a week of before ATM, and this is good since it is a THURSDAY Kickoff. eta
However, take a look at the aforementioned teams. There is not a top 25 head to head game in the bunch and they play their top three sec or acc rivals next week....utilizing their spacing.
Of all the SEC teams that matter, LSU and ATM don't utilize spacing as well; bumping out off weeks later in the year
(and this would be only if you agree with me about spacing....furthermore, it could be a good idea since we WILL be good again and will need the time off closer to the SEC championship games in the future and playing ATM on thursday would give us two more extra days rest before playing the SEC east champ in the future.) again, my rebuttal is that this argument is moot if you agree that the week off before the last game of the year is well-placed.
LSU plays 9 games in a row to start the year.....granted with cupcakes.....but not evenly spaced.
Two in a row kinda defeats the purpose of a cupcake. They are reprieves, or should be seen as reprieves.
What would Alleva have to do to get our schedule like it was in 2007? LINK great spacing, perfect scenario before VT. We played an anemic MSU team on Thursday and got two extra days rest before a merciless, savage thrashing of VT. Also, beating VT was the way we got into the NC that year. We had two losses and there were other teams clamoring for the #2 spot...VT was one of them and we quelled that easily by posting a 48-7 score on them...instantly taking them out of the conversation for a competitor against OSU.
If anyone says that EKU is 9-2, I'll vomick.

I like the bye before Bama

This will be the bye spacing every 2 years. Alabama has started taking a bye before their game with LSU and LSU has followed suit. Both teams want to be as rested and healed as possible.
And every 2 years LSU will play Texas A&M on Thanksgiving night. So a bye is needed the Saturday before due to the quick turnaround. LSU will have a better bye spacing when the A&M game is in Baton Rouge.

I like how you just kind of wrote off Arkansas as a cupcake for Ole Miss.
we just got our arse stomped by that cupcake.

that has nothing to do with the fact that they are......were winless in the SEC for a loooooong time.
Now we are 3-4 in the SEC.
