K. But just so we're clear, I'll be considered a freak in the gym if I can go all day and have good technique. Tommy Moffit is the BEST!!

15 reps of 219 lbs is not bad

Are you retarded?

This isn't right. I thought they counted reps of 217lbs for DB's?

:can'ttellifserious:

It doesn't matter how strong you are if you can't compete past the 2nd quarter. Conditioning is not just about strength. It's about being able to compete through 4 quarters and then some. Moffit has done just that.

Not serious.

And with all due respect to PP7, he wasn't exactly known as a finisher. He watched Julio streak down the sidelines in '09, and struggled mightily with similar issues to start last season. Loved him by the way.

The things you are saying in this thread make no sense. Tommy Moffit is the Strength and Conditioning coach. Not just the conditioning coach. And FWIW 15 reps is fine. I just can't digest the way you think you are supporting your points.

chad jones did 9 last year for perspective.

it means nothing. 15 is good for PP7. His freakness will be on display tomorrow and no one will give a crap about his bench. get a clue.

He had been suffering from the flu for that entire week of the game.

Coach Hatch put the bench press in perspective in a speech to the football team in the mid-90's...

"Bench press is fine, but considering the move, it's only good if you're constantly playing off your back. If that's the case, then the game is probably not going in your favor."

That's pretty much when Olympic weightlifting was introduced to LSU...except Track and Field who was already doing those lifts.

He probably recently trained for speed, quickness rather than strength to be ready for the position drills. That's probably what his agent and other advisors were suggesting. Did anyone care how many reps Deion, Champ, or Woodson put up?

PP7 has a very strong lower body and would probably blow most of these guys out in a squat or dead lift competition.

He'll be fine. I'm still going with 4.34 40 tomorrow.

I noticed prince from Nebraska didn't even bother lifting and he's considered the 2nd best db in the draft, so he's probably not the strongest dude either.

I know he could have done more but probably wanted to put more effort into training for the 40 and other shite rather than getting his bench up.

Rahim Moore only did 11 and he is a safety.

He is a freak in the gym... Im 265 lbs and did 18 reps at 225 so for him to only do 3 less than me at 50lbs lighter is impressive

A condition he's had since he was a kid where his extreme anxiety leads to his adrenaline flying off the charts and it deyhyrdates him.

He got better toward the end of the year, in part, because he had someone attached to him whose job it was to talk to him and settle him down and keep him relaxed.
