quote:7 is not too young if the kid is into baseball and wants to hang out with some college players for a few days and have fun. He's freakin' 7, he's not preparing for the draft. My kid has been going since he was 6 and loves to follow his player coach during the LSU baseball season. These camps don't promote themselves as being elite training sessions, so don't try to make it into something it is not. It's about having fun, getting the kids out of the house during the summer, meeting the college players and coaches, and learning some baseball skills at the same time. They also get pictures and autographs on the last day which is a big deal for a 7 year old who wants to be a Tiger one day. It helps encourage their love of the game which in turn will make them work harder on improving their playing abilities.
It's a money wank.... Much better off going to smaller camps or private lessons if you want him to learn anything that is useful. And Yes 7 yes way too young.
