Absolutely not. Conceding game 1 of 3 game series in the post season would be insane.

Throwing your ace vs Skenes when you have only 2 (or less) viable SP would be conceding the series. & Most teams out there don't have 3 viable SP (Wake, Duke, Tennessee being the notable exceptions.. i could see them playing it straight up)

Throw your 3 vs Skenes and you have a decided SP advantage in games 2 and 3.

Some teams ace will probably be better but Floyd isn’t a bad number 2 pitcher. He can keep you in the game while the offense drives up the pitch count for the starter like they have all year and then beat the middle relievers.

Now game 3 for sure you will have a pitching advantage but if you pitched your ace in game one you would still have the starting pitching advantage in game 3.

This is a statement that can be used about any pitcher in the SEC

I’ll post the stats again for those who don’t understand.

He’s given up 9 ER in 32 2/3 innings since becoming a starter and that’s all against SEC teams. That’s a 2.48 ERA in SEC play.

Every pitcher in the SEC is not capable of that

Crews is overdue. I have a feeling he is fixn to eat!

GA doesn't really have an ace. Their Friday night guy is slumping and not even starting anymore.

I see the logic, but putting your team in a win or go home situation isn’t an advantage. Especially, if we are at home. Teams have the ability to play for tomorrow with no ramifications right now. I just can’t see a team throwing a bullpen game on Friday. Especially if you lose, leashes will be very short on Saturday.
