Remember a ref calling a questionable walk against Pete when he was with the Jazz & his HC screamed at the ref: "how can you call that a walk, you've never seen that happen before"? Bob Cousey called him "hands down the best ball handler I've ever seen." And for you young'uns, Cousey was consider the premier point guard for a long long long time. Had ESPN existed back then, they would have had to have a program just for Pete's highlights each nite.

The bank shots are fascinating. Just don’t see those off of jump shots these days.

. Didn't CBS run them during NBA halftime shows?

I think you’re right. They also played one-on-one one year. Maravich had to play Bob Lanier

Who knew Pete was such a bad shot? He had to resort to trash shots to win.

It wasn't trash shots, it's called trick shots, and the game of HORSE is all about trick shots. That's how you beat opponents and win. Maravich was a master of trickery!

That era was all about fundamentals and I miss that. These kids today are all about the 3 point shots and they could learn a lot from this bygone era. Tim Duncan was the last modern person to use bank shots. George Gervin was a master at the finger roll, he could do that shot from 10 feet away. Lol
