Tom is a freaking genius, maybe the reason Mett hasn't been tested yet on the road is because LSU has played all 3 games so far at Tiger Stadium. I know he is a GT grad but he is such a Bama Gump homer.

Three starts and all three at home and Lugenbill produces this gem of insight. Why would anyone waste their time listening to these guys tell you what you already know.

He's right in the sense that we don't have a 6'4 guy that can separate like Randle, but we have guys that can get open and get down field. Jarvis Landry is so physical, he's going to get where he wants to go if he's got to bust your chin to get there.

yeah, with Randle gone to the NFL, this is the first year since... I don't know... maybe when Josh Reed was the primary target (maybe Michael Clayton's emergence started the trend)... that we haven't had a physically large, go to receiver.

In a way, the current group of receivers reminds me of the mid 90's UF Gators teams that had Ike Hilliard, Reidel Anthony and Jacquez Green. OBJ, Landry and Shepard aren't huge, physically imposing specimens, but they still all have big play potential. It's a safe bet we'll never be so pass happy that our receivers will rack up stats the way UF's fun-n-gun receivers did, but I think this group has a chance to do some great things. Like Lugenbill suggests, they aren't proven yet. If he wants to take a cynical wait and see approach, I don't have a problem with it. But personally, I believe the more we involve our receivers the more they will rise to the occasion and shine.

We have only won at Auburn TWICE in the last 12 years!!!!!

1998 and 2008.

now that being said we did destroy them last year but that was at home. I cannot even remember the last time we blew them out in JH stadium.

I think we win but i would not be surpised if they gave us a fight. at least for awhile. This is Metts first big road SEC test.

Boone and Wright are great and I'm sure they too will get better and better the more they're called on. I only specified the three I did because they more specifically remind me physically of that trio of receivers from UF that I mentioned. For whatever reason, I was assuming that both Boone and Wright were on the tall side, though I just checked lsusports.net and see Boone listed at 6' even, so he may fit the mold I was speaking to... I just haven't seen him on the field enough to automatically make that connection.

As for this part...

who can PLAY

I'm sure ALL of the guys mentioned between your post and mine will improve the more reps they get and the more they are thrown to; all of them have at least shown flashes of being great playmakers. Reps will help consistency and confidence. I haven't seen much of the games this year so far, but what I have seen looks promising.
