My screw up Speedy, I was just wanting to put in about the fact he was an ex-head coach becoming an assistant at LSU...I'll take the heat for my mistake...as I know our hitting coach is already in 'good hands' with Javi...spank:

Gfunk, I don't recall that being a question. Did you read the exchanges? The other ranter was ripping JA with moot comparisons including stats while Patrick was back in bama and other coaches were no longer in contention. My 2 sentences weren't rips, rather a request for more substantial information as to why JA blew it.

Sounds like you are not a big JA fan and perhaps know more about some mistakes than I do, but who do you place your trust in if not an AD who has tons of sources at his disposal and bets his job on each hire?
Closest one I can think of would be DD who I feel in very informed on many LSU topics.

Spoken to him a couple of times. Seems to be a family guy. Really nice guy, down to earth, friendly. His wife and I attended the same middle school in BR and worked for the same school system out here. I'm wondering if she wasn't wanting to move back to BR, and when the position opened at LSU he floated his name out there.
Should I try to get any inside info before they move?

Absolutely. Start with the basics. See if he knows the difference between a grapefruit and a softball, and can tell when a softball is ripe, uhhhh, maybe to hit?
If he can answer that one, we got ourselves a good one!
