i haven't read many posts that say that. most of them just call Miles an idiot liar who's hiding something because he's a lieing idiot.....and Lee was awesome.

yet somehow it's ok for you to say it, but no one else can?

if i ever read someone saying what i just said then i would agree with them. not sure what you're talking about.

This is not a persuasive argument. By the third quarter, it was obvious to any observer with functioning ocular nerves and basic reasoning skills that we were going to lose - could NOT win - with JJ under the center. Hence, any other strategy was justified and warranted at that point. Imagine being on a plane with no functioning engines and a shattered empennage. The wings are on fire. It's in a screaming nosedive. The plane is going to f*cking crash. This is inevitable. There are some parachutes in the hold. Enough for the few passengers. They are old and tattered. It isn't clear if they have been packed properly. No guarantee that they will open. Or function properly if they do open. It's a long shot. But of course it's still the only shot to survive...because the PLANE IS GOING TO F*CKING CRASH. If you're the pilot, do you order the passengers to suit up and try to parachute out? If you are a right thinking human being, of course you do...because the alternative is that THE PLANE IS GOING TO F*CKING CRASH. But not Les Miles. If he's at the helm, he sits in the cockpit playing with yoke while the fuselage hurtles to the ground to be consumed in a hellish fireball, killing all aboard. Greeted at the gates of heaven or the outermost circle of hell, Miles is asked why he didn't deploy the parachutes, the only possible way out of the predicament. His answer: "I had a want to but doobah dabby dabba doo phfffftttt! Have a nice day."

Jesus. We couldn't have been in a worse hole. There is no worse hole than being shutout and losing 21-0 in a national embarassment. The only possible way that we had any chance of scoring and winning was by taking JJ out and adjusting the gameplan. It may have been a longshot - just like the rotted parachutes in the analogy. But it was the only shot. The only shot. And there is absolutely no logical reason for failing to take it.

Many overarching views of Miles' career to date are possible, but there is only feasible interpretation of the coaching on that one night: it sucked.

I guess we were NOT watching the same game.

I'm talking on the pass plays in the second half. The sacked us 4 times in that game. We sacked them twice (should have been more but Baker let AJ go, and Mingo whiffed on one). They didn't concede they couldn't pass the ball. Why are you conceding that. Hell they threw it 34 times. In the second half, on our plays out of the 31 package we have, we had them blocked up and we had single coverage for Beckham. The only thing that missed was the throw.

Yea because QBs who can't get touched at practice get hurt so frequently.

ONE completion by JJ would NOT have changed the game. Bama had him figured out. FACE IT. The LSU team was NOT READY.

I'm not in the camp that a QB change wouldn't have a made a difference. If you can suffer through re-watching it, WRs were running free. But we only had about 3 different plays the whole game. Quick throw out the WR, run up the middle, and some other foolishness. Bama disrespected our pass game so much they could have sent out all D-lineman and still had similar results

Well, it's sort of the coach's job to make sure the team is ready for a major game.

Is this a real tweet/quote? "Let's roll with it I guess" is not exactly a resounding endorsement of the injury lie, errr, theory.

You are setting up strawmen. Obfuscation aside, we aren't talking about one completion. JJ out of the game has many other wonderful effects. For instance, you take out a guy that somehow managed to get 17 throws and 14 rushes (!) in that game. Kenneth Hilliard got 5. Who on fricking earth would choose that split. If you are rushing the ball 27 times in a game and you give 14 carries to Jefferson, there is a problem. Of course you will think you can't win. It would be like if Bama gave Philip Sims 14 carries and Trent 5. The couldn't have won argument is for people who need to justify Les making a mistake. The good news is he usually fixes his errors. No need to excuse them.

Yes, and the O line was at least putting up a fight in the 1st game. In the 2nd, that same O line was MIA.

We didn't go 13-0 cause of any certain Sr QB and we were not going to go 14-0 cause of any certain Sr QB.

When Bama TOTALLY controlled our OL/running game and our STs didn't do anything special...it was over.imo

Will fall camp pleaseeeeeeeeeee start.

It's an even bigger insult to JL too...WOW

JL was a senior on this team.

He performed admirably behind LSU's juggernaut running game.

However, in the Alabama game, he threw an interception and literally dove out of the way of Marc Baron in order to avoid contact. He was trying to save his body in the most important game of his life.

He did not deserve another chance to play after that.

That would explain Miles' nutty answer.

I AGREE. He should have STARTED LEE. With a DIFFERENT gameplan.

Say ALL you want. The game is history. Miles AND company made huge errors in preperation and motivation. Make ALL the excuses you want. The BETTER team WON THAT night.

Who is making excuses? The only excuse in our interaction is you excuse LSU losing because "they could not have won that night." I reject your premise and conclusion.
