Jefferson stands there too afraid to move, Lee forces the ball into coverage. Let me know which one you think is a winner's approach.
But you are comparing Lee to what he did LAST year...how do we know what he will do this year if he is never given a chance to play??

Better chance for results than the option IMO

The option run correctly is much more effective. Unfortunately, we can't run it effectively with Jefferson.

That is precisely the problem! Receivers are open, he's just not seeing them.

I'm in complete support of trying out Lee this year. He's done nothing yet in his limited snaps to make us think otherwise and despite the TOs last year, he MOVED THE BALL.

With our defense, we can cope with a QB who throws one interception every game. We cannot cope with an offense who gets 5 first downs a game.

There are people open. Just pay attention to the WRs in person or on the TV replays. Jefferson is playing scared. Lee may not be the answer, and JJ may improve, but right now he is taking a lot of those sacks with people open.

exactly. Everyone points out the pick 6's but I don't think that will happen again. I mean JL threw the interception but there are 10 other guys on the field last year that could have made a tackle after the interception. I would rather risk an int and move the ball than go 3 out every other series while maybe gaining 20 yards on another.

You ever thought JJ is reason for the predictable play calling?

JJ is just as much to blame as anyone else on the offense and probably more.

I blame Les Miles and the coaching staff for not having a freaking QB on roster that can move a football team against an SEC defense.

The offensive line blocked fairly well last night

Completely agree, improvements were obvious everywhere with the exception of Crowton' play calling and Jefferson picking up the open receivers. I guess it's just going to take some time for him to get comfortable back there. JR didn't exactly grasp it right away.

This exact thread was happening on the Vol message boards for the last several weeks. The problem is, even though Crompton is not a good QB, our backup had shown last year that he actually was worse.

LSU is in the same situation. Jefferson may not be the best QB in the SEC, but from an outsider's perspective based on the past 2 seasons he appears to be better than Lee. Riding it out with Jefferson would probably result in more wins than a QB carousel. Sticking with the seemingly crappy starting QB seemed to work for UT this week.

Agree!!! I say, for what it worth, rotate JJ & JL. It's not like that's something new to LSU football. I know we've all seen it happen before, when one guy just can't get his stuff together and the other QB comes in and makes a couple good plays and all of sudden the other guy who couldn't get his stuff together starts playing better. It's not a perfect science, but, it has worked at different time in the past. What the hell could it hurt at this point? Our offense needs a shot in the arm from somewhere!

Leonides:

You are right-on!

I like LM; but, I prefer that Les keep his coaches doing most play-calling directly during the game when they are "as good as he is". Why change the game plan? Les should coach "that" during practice.

And of course you know for certain that Miles is the one that calls the bad plays that backfire and Crowton calls the good ones that work.

Crowton is well known for his offensive calling.
Why should he change?
