KNOE sports here in north Louisiana was announcing the hiring of Pelini as LSU's DC, and showed some highlights from his prior time at LSU, in particular Pelini in the face of someone wearing # 7 after coming off the field. That's what this defense needs. A DC that will challenge his best players to perform at their highest level, and chew out their arses when they make a mistake and blow a coverage. Bo Pelini will light a fire under this defense for sure.

Well it was a player wearing number 7, so I'm not sure who it was back then wearing that number. I've always associated it with Petersen, but I do stand corrected.

Basic Rantard wants a very demonstrative coach.

I guess according to you Coach O is a Basic Rantard as well then, since he hired him. Did you ever see Aranda demonstrative with players when his defenses gave up chunks of yardage, or in this years Ole Miss Game?

I'm pretty sure that most of us want him to dial the intensity back around 20% going forward.

I like the hire and am glad that he likes to coach an aggressive defense.

not sure how chewing out players translates to being a good coach, but I think Pelini is a very good coach who could work on his temper at times.

Yeah, Saban would never do anything like that. Recruits hate to come to play for THAT guy.

yeah but is he crazy enough to fist-fight O? We know he's got the temper for it....

I'd say it's a safe bet to happen; just hope somebody gets cellphone video of the tussle!

But Saban routinely breaks headsets as a vital part of his schtick.

I don't care who you are, seeing a midget lose control of his temper and then destroy his headset is waaaay more entertaining than a normal sized person just yelling.

Nope. Sure don't. I want him to be so nasty that it translates onto the field and other teams fear our defense because of it. That's what I want.

Let’s hire Mike Archer while we’re at it.

Dude hasn’t been relevant since 2007.

“Chad,” Pelini barked. “Make a (bleeping) play!” Jones sacked Bama quarterback John Parker Wilson, forcing a fumble that set up Jacob Hester’s game-winning touchdown moments later.
