Me thinks TigerBait1998 has retreated, due to the light shown on the fact that he's totally ignorant. Pearson has as much hitting potential as Chris Stanfield, and we all love Chris! So, I suggest TB1998 just sit back and watch the growth, and oh, STFU!

Pearson will be fine as a hitter. He may be a little up and down, but that tends to be LSU hitting in a nutshell at this point in the season this year and the previous two. But Jay has proven he can get them on track when it counts and Pearson has proven there’s something there for Jay to work with.

The improvement we need from Pearson is to get more comfortable manning 3rd. He’s never going to be Braswell, but we need him to be solid and dependable over there. If Serna continues to grow as a hitter, he’s going to need to be the DH most of the time. That means Pearson has to be in the infield to keep his bat in the lineup.

We desperately need a consistent RH bat. I like him for that.

Why didn’t you post this after his 2nd AB?

I posted it after his 3rd at bat in the game thread and just completely forgot about his 2nd AB.

Genuinely no idea what Jay sees in this dude.

He gets the same respect as his brother in his first year.
He made a defensive play that kept us on the path to eventually win a National Championship.

399 on base percentage and 27 home runs. Perhaps Pearson's most important contribution was his leaping catch in left field to Florida's Wyatt Langford of what would have been a walk off hit in Game 1 of the 2023 CWS final.
