Not to take anything away from Hawkins, it was just a height thing

Definitely not a height thing, Peterson and Hawkins are both 6'1" tall, though Peterson has 30lbs. on Hawkins

best Db in the country is Eric berry, so PP is not even the best DB, but dude is solid.

Peterson wouldn't have let someone go over him and snatch a TD, people forget in that same game Green had the exact same position on Petrson that Hawkins had on him, and PP knocked the ball away from him from behind.

fyi, no one is serious when they say Hookfin. it's like saying Dunson in a best LB thread.

At this point in his LSU career, Hookfin didn't even warrant a mention in the same sentence with PP. Hookfin was serviceable his junior year and pretty good as a senior, but he was never in Webster's class. As a matter of fact, I'd put Travis Daniels ahead of Hookfin.

holy shite

I've been watching the tigers for 40 years and although we've had some good ones PP is the best I've seen.

Hookfin a close 1A.
I couldnt disagree more. Hookfin went through a long period (years not weeks) where he was toast every game. PP has been solid from the start.

Well, he was more decorated for defensive honors in high school that Webster, but we won't know a good comparison for a little while.

Webster was a QB in prep, WR freshman year at LSU and then converted to CB sophomore season. PP has been a DB all along. Remember that Webster had very impressive stats as well, his sophomore season with only 5 starts.

I think they are close...both to have great Sunday careers.

For some reason we switched to a zone defense later in the game, one that was really easy to read. If PP was on Green it was man coverage, if Hawkins then it was a zone. Green was on the opposite side of PP's zone on that play. I guess that's the zone hes most comfortable in.

I still don't agree with it though. At no point should anyone but PP have covered Green.

what are you talkin about dude? I'm actually agreeing with your arse. all I was sayin was PP made an exceptional play knocking the ball away from Green from behind him. Hawkins couldn't eben do that and he was in front of Green.

Tommy Casanova was a safety not a corner. He was one of the best DB's if not the best of all time. He returned punts too!

Is this guy the best Corner in LSU history?

Casanova was a man amongst boys in college and the pros, primarily playing FS but against teams with a great reciever, Casanova played man corner. He was just sensational whereever he lined up, even playing a few downs as a running back early in his career and of course was a lights out kick returner. PP has a good start but still a long way to go to get to that level. I'd say Webster and Jackson are currently 2nd and third with Mike Williams and James Britt not for behind.

Peterson will have to do some amazing shite for me to rank him above Corey Webster, who is also my favorite Tiger of all time.
