Patrick Peterson is without a doubt, the best defensive player in LSU History.
Offenses abandoned his side of the field when he was at cornerback

Peterson was a great man corner but was average at zone. People may not want to believe it but some scouts felt that Claiborne had a higher ceiling due to playing both well

We didn't play zone with either one of those dudes. Claiborne struggled in the NFL for that exact reason

I never said that, but if you ask me who my 1st choice on Defense it would be Patrick Peterson. Tyrann Mathieu, Glenn Dorsey, Michael Brooks and Tommy Casanova would follow, but Patrick Peterson would be my 1st choice.

I absolutely love PP, so I’m definitely not arguing against him. Hard to pick a clear winner in the race sometimes…he was a lockdown true number one from the minute he stepped on campus.

Mo claiborne was a more dominant corner at lsu who didnt get sliced and diced by penn st. Matheiu was a better playmaker corner

Such a bad take.

First off, you resorted to comparing him to two other LSU all-time greats. So there's that.

And TM7 was an average at best CB at LSU. But, he was a "better playmaker" than any other LSU player in history when he was playing in his position of strength as a rover/safety.

PP7 was an absolute freak at LSU in both the CB position and as a return man.

Sadly, spoiled fan base expects to win a NC if we have a GOAT on the team. If we didn't, then his legacy is diminished.
