BS, many of the ones that jumped the gun were arrested(sadly, many were not). And how that name stuck as rallying cry for a sports team(hey we are the cheaters) is beyond me.

Funny thing about crossing the Rubicon.
It's an overstated accomplishment
... the Rubicon is actually no wider than a drainage ditch.
Not much water to cross at all.

But in this case, it's not the water that will get you.

Holy shite, just how fricking stupid are you people?

"Crossing the Rubicon" doesn't have anything to do with the challenge of crossing the river...It references Caesar's haunting decision to defy Rome and cross the river. IOW, once he crossed the Rubicon, there was no going back.

...just realized I'm explaining ancient Roman politics to Earnest T Bass

Ok, red dirt for brains. Why does ou base their rallying cry off a term for cheating? We’re all those championships won by cheating? Honestly would like to know, I worked at ou and no one could ever answer that question.

Oklahoma is/was known as the Sooner State, so the state's university named their sports teams the Sooners. Pretty simple, really. You seem aware of the history of the term, so I won't spend time explaining that. I'm not sure why nobody was ever able to explain this to you.

Why is your team named after an animal? And why the exact same animal as Clemson, Auburn, Missouri, Memphis, and probably several other programs?

The stuff you see in Oklahoma. A woman goes to jail for marrying her son, then goes back for trying to marry her daughter.

Coming from the poster whose manic missives have repeatedly demonstrated the cerebral capabilities of of a massive stroke victim.

"But but but...we're the better historical program, dammit." Yay, you were hot in the 70's and had one minor flare up of success just over 20 years later. Congratulations on being college football's version of the Bee Gees.

It can’t be worse than Muskogee. That’s the dirtiest town I have ever seen. Never seen that many meth heads in my life.

Muskogee is unpleasant, but Duncan has had a string of some of the most bizarre murders. A college student murdered his whole family a few years ago to try to collect life insurance (fyi that is not how life insurance works, even if not caught). Another guy was randomly murdered in the street a year or two before "because they wondered what it would feel like." I'm now hearing there was a triple murder at Walmart last month.

Well actually, its the "Fighting Tigers" of LSU. Named after a civil war regiment. The 350lb Tiger we keep as a pet on campus is just a representative of the ferociousness of the Fighting Tigers!!

Whenever I think that Minnesota Vikings fans are complete idiots that can't smack and are still completely unglued from a game that took place many years back...Sooner fans are always there to remind me that someone is worse.

We've lost an absurd amount of NCs, but the complaints about LSU's fanbase far exceed all the others combined. It's not even close

This is such a rampant and weird statement from the OU fanbase. I've been to a dozen Texas/OU games and Friday nights in downtown Dallas leading up to those games. The first couple years I was neutral because LSU was all I cared about. My neutrality quickly wore off because the OU fan base was the WORST I had ever seen, by far. Hook em'

I've been to dozens of LSU games and brought visiting fans. Not a single complaint by any. The general statement after "best gameday experience ever". That's known far and wide in the college football landscape - not just something LSU fans exaggerate or make up.

Keep banding together to create an LSU fan base narrative that is very clearly inaccurate and, turns out, is a reflection of your fan base. Most of all, enjoy this arse whoopin on 12/28.

The LSU mascot comes from a fierce Civil War regiment called the Fightin Tigers. And my question is, why would you take on the monicker of cheating, proud of it or not, it is referencing cheaters.
