O's Use of Bye Week

For the first time since we started putting our bye week before the Bama game, it seemed like we made better use of the extra time than Saban. We didn't get beat last night because we were outcoached.
I'm no O homer, but you have to give credit where credit is due. O and the staff got the guys ready to play, and we had a better game plan than Bama. Obviously, we could've had some better QB play and could've covered Ridley better, but our coaching staff put our guys in a position to succeed. We weren't just playing to hold onto the game or try to get lucky, we were competing. Whenever Bama had something positive going, it was because Hurts or Ridley were making plays or we were shooting ourselves in the foot like with the interception. It wasn't because Bama was better prepared or had a better play calling. We had a winning game plan in place, and think we weren't too far off from getting the W last night.
Not many times in the last 6 years has LSU gotten better at their weakness or fixed things with the team midseason. Good coaches make changes and fix problems. O has seemingly fixed the penalty problem, improved special teams, improved our play in the trenches, improved our run D, and has allowed the offense to be more creative.
I know ESPN and this board likes to paint O as a wholly inept head coach who can't even tie his shoes, but O deserves some credit for the way the team has responded/improved since Troy.

Considering where things were in the critics mind a month ago we have seen tremendous progress. Coach must be given credit. You've seen FSU players fold on Jimbo.
