re: Orgeron: It's going to look different, because it is different

Ouch, that's a lot of narratives going out the window.
quote:
"I enjoy having Steve (Ensminger) with me on the same page that I am (on) and Jerry Sullivan, who I consider the best out there and Tommy Robinson...and James Craig," Orgeron said. "So we formulated a plan, an offense -- we had blueprint that we all agreed on, and obviously Steve has control of it. He does a tremendous job of it."
July 16, 2018
quote:
Ensminger is implementing a spread offense for the Tigers that Orgeron envisions will have a 50-50 split between run and pass, a much more balanced style than LSU football has implemented in years past. Orgeron told the crowd Tuesday that he expects a lot of three-receiver sets for whichever quarterback wins the starting job, which could give the Tigers passing game a national relevance it has lacked for several years now.
July 21, 2018
quote:
What is in front of all this could be the strength of the LSU offense. Three starters return on the offensive line in senior left guard Garrett Brumfield, sophomore right guard Ed Ingram and sophomore left tackle Saahdiq Charles, and there could be some quality depth.
"We really do have a great offensive line," senior tight end Foster Moreau said at Southeastern Conference Media Days last week. "Whoever lines up behind them is going to be good at quarterback or tailback. These past few years, we've had incredible players play on the offensive line, and no one really talks about it."
quote:
"I feel Garrett Brumfield is a tremendous leader on our offense," Orgeron said. "And I really feel like we're going to be strong on the offensive line."
quote:
"We had three freshmen that played last year," Orgeron said of Charles, Ingram and Deculus. "So, we're going to be stronger on the offensive line than we were last year, and we have more depth."
July 28, 2018
quote:
Texas Tech transfer Jonathan Giles has emerged as the leader in that category. The receiver earned the coveted No. 7 jersey for being the most impactful playmaker on the team.
“[The offense] is a lot of balance,” Giles says. “It’s a lot of three-wide, four-wide. Last year was more of a two-receiver set a lot of times with two tight ends. This year, you’ll see more spread and balance and [run-pass options] and things like that—more passing.”
That’s the overall message from anyone you talk to on the offensive side of the ball: more passing. Which sure comes as good news to Tiger fans who have spent the majority of the past decade watching LSU pound the ball down the throat of its opponents with I-formations, jumbo sets and toss-dives.
That’s all going to change this year, if you ask any of the players.
Ouch, that's a lot of narratives going out the window.

So winning the bare minimum number of games you expect is great?

You can't read.
I said a great year for LSU. It would meet my minimum expectations for the team.

The morons on the board have convinced themselves and are trying to convince others that 10 and 2 is the bare minimum to save O's job. They live in another world.

FYI, that's not really how the term floor works, but if that's the standard you want to be on record, that's fine.

O will definitely be coaching at LSU next season barring some epic collapse (such as a year during his Ole Miss tenure), but anything less than 10 regular season wins will have his seat warm and if that is repeated in 2020, Woodward will almost certainly make a move.

The only thing the rantards care about is getting coach O fired. Fact
It's their preoccupation

I've said nothing about firing him, but OK

So if we only get 10 next year, you agree that that is not worth of praise as some extraordinary accomplishment, right? It is the bare minimum that should happen, right?
This is a great example of the disconnect right here. The notion that every thing has to be some extreme or absolute. This looking at just the record without ever looking at anything else, the schedule, how the games went and myriad of other factors is just silly and frankly a bit lazy. 99 times out of 100 10-2 is a great season (though not all 10-2s are the same) and the coach should get credit for a good season (doesn’t mean he should be canonized but he shouldn’t be trashed for it either

You've got to stop. I just spewed my drink on the screen.
Woodward isn't firing a 10 win coach. If you think he is you're retarded.

I agree with this. We will need so see some improvement with the talent at hand. 9-3 would be disappointing imo.

Roger. Woodward is not firing a 10 win coach. It isn't going to happen. It would damage the LSU brand big time.

He's shown he's more than happy to replace a coach performing at "acceptable" levels if someone better is available.

We fired Les after what would have been a 10 win season in 2015.

Any unmet expectation is disappointing, You've got some cognitive disconnect here.
You're trolling for gotchas and stepping on your own toes.

Are you able to read? Both Rog and myself are entertaining a hypothetical where O wins less than 10 games.
